⁹ And they taught in Judah, having the book of the law of the LORD with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.

⁴ Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God is one LORD: ⁵ and thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. ⁶ And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thine heart: ⁷ and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. ⁸ And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes. ⁹ And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thy house, and upon thy gates.

¹¹ when all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. ¹² Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law; ¹³ and that their children, which have not known, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest. ⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

³ And he said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; there shall no more be a burden upon your shoulders: now serve the LORD your God, and his people Israel.

⁷ Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people [stood] in their place.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony! if they speak not according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

²³ But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone through the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

¹ And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and preach in their cities.

² Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. ³ And he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? ⁴ For God said, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die the death. ⁵ But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, That wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is given [to God]; ⁶ he shall not honour his father. And ye have made void the word of God because of your tradition. ⁷ Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, ⁸ This people honoureth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me. ⁹ But in vain do they worship me, Teaching [as their] doctrines the precepts of men.

¹⁹ Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: ²⁰ teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

¹⁷ And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And he opened the book, and found the place where it was written, ¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised, ¹⁹ To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

³⁹ Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;

⁴⁶ For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me.

⁴⁰ But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached the gospel to all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

¹⁵ And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

²¹ For Moses from generations of old hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath.

²³ And when they had appointed him a day, they came to him into his lodging in great number; to whom he expounded [the matter], testifying the kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning till evening.

² Much every way: first of all, that they were intrusted with the oracles of God.

¹¹ if any man speaketh, [speaking] as it were oracles of God; if any man ministereth, [ministering] as of the strength which God supplieth: that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
