¹⁰ ¶ Whosoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit, but the perfect shall inherit every good thing.

¹⁵ And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? ¹⁶ Behold, these caused the sons of Israel through the counsel of Balaam to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor for which there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

¹² ¶ And it shall come to pass, for having heard these rights and for having kept them by doing them that the LORD thy God shall keep the covenant with thee and the mercy which he swore unto thy fathers; ¹³ and he will love thee and bless thee and multiply thee; he will also bless the fruit of thy womb and the fruit of thy land, thy grain and thy wine and thine oil, the increase of thy cows and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he swore unto thy fathers to give thee. ¹⁴ Thou shalt be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be male or female barren among you or among your beasts.

¹⁹ Now, therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his slave. If the LORD has stirred thee up against me, let him smell the fragrance of an offering, but if they were the sons of men, let them be cursed before the LORD, for they have driven me out this day from joining myself to the inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods.

¹⁵ He made a pit and deepened it and shall fall into the ditch which he made. ¹⁶ His work shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

¹⁵ The Gentiles are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid their own foot is taken.

¹¹ But the meek shall inherit the earth and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

²⁵ Nun I have been young and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. ²⁶ He is ever merciful and lends, and his seed is a blessing.

³ The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish, but wickedness shall cast out the wicked.

⁶ ¶ In the house of the righteous is much provision, but in the fruit of the wicked is trouble.

²⁰ ¶ There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spends it up.

²⁷ ¶ Whosoever digs a pit shall fall therein, and he that rolls a stone, it will return upon him.

⁸ He that digs a pit shall fall into it, and whosoever breaks a hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

³³ But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

⁸ But Elymas the wise man (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith. ⁹ Then Saul (who also is Paul), filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes on him ¹⁰ and said, O full of all deception and all licentiousness, thou son of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

¹⁷ ¶ And I beseech you, brethren, mark those who cause dissensions and offences outside of the doctrine which ye have learned, and avoid them. ¹⁸ For they that are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly and by smooth words and blessings deceive the hearts of the simple.

³ But I fear that as the serpent deceived Eve through his craftiness, so your senses should be corrupted in some way, and ye should fall from the simplicity that is in the Christ. ⁴ Therefore if anyone comes preaching another Jesus whom we have not preached or if ye receive another spirit from that which ye have received or another gospel from that which ye have accepted, ye bear well with it.

¹³ For these false apostles are deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And it is no marvel, for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. ¹⁵ Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers transform themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.

⁸ But even if we, or an angel from heaven, were to preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be anathema. ⁹ As we said before, so do I say now again, If anyone preaches any other gospel unto you than what ye have received, let him be anathema.

⁴ And that in spite of the false brethren, who entered secretly to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus that they might bring us into bondage;

¹ ¶ O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you that ye should not trust in the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth, crucified among you? ² This only would I learn of you, Did ye receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by the obedient ear of faith? ³ Are ye so foolish? having begun by the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? ⁴ Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.

¹⁸ For speaking arrogant words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from those who converse in error, ¹⁹ promising them liberty, being they themselves the slaves of corruption: for he who is overcome by someone is subject to bondage by the one that overcame him. ²⁰ Certainly, if having separated themselves from the contaminations of the world, by the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they again entangle themselves therein and are overcome, their latter end is made worse for them than the beginnings.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against thee because thou hast there those that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols and to commit fornication.
