¹⁷ ¶ Think not that I am come to undo the law or the prophets; I am not come to undo, but to fulfil.

⁶ ¶ Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened; burnt offering and sin offering thou hast not required. ⁷ Then said I, Behold, I come; in the volume of the book it is written of me, ⁸ I delight to do thy will, O my God; thy law is within my bowels.

²¹ The LORD, jealous for his righteousness, will magnify the law and enlarge it.

¹⁵ And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now, for thus it is expedient for us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

¹² ¶ Therefore, all things whatsoever ye desire that men should do unto you, so also shall ye do unto them, for this is the law and the prophets.

¹⁷ And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass than one tittle of the law to fail.

⁵ Now Moses in the law commanded us that such should be stoned, but what sayest thou?

¹³ and set up false witnesses, who said, This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place and the law,

¹³ saying, This fellow persuades men to honor God contrary to the law.

²⁸ crying out, Men of Israel, help; this is the man that teaches everyone everywhere against the people and the law and this place and further brought Greeks also into the temple and has polluted this holy place.

³¹ Do we then make void the law through faith? No, in no wise; to the contrary, we establish the law.

⁴ that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

⁴ For Christ is the end of the law, to give righteousness to every one that believes.

¹⁷ And this I say that regarding the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot cancel it, that it should make the promise of no effect. ¹⁸ For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. ¹⁹ ¶ For what then serves the law? It was added because of rebellions until the seed should come to whom the promise was made, and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. ²⁰ Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. ²¹ Is the law then against the promises of God? No, in no wise, for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. ²² But the scripture has concluded all under sin that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to the believers. ²³ But before faith came, we were under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. ²⁴ Therefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

⁴ but when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, ⁵ to redeem those that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

¹⁶ ¶ Let no one therefore judge you in food or in drink or in respect of a feast day or of the new moon or of the sabbath days, ¹⁷ which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of the Christ.

³ But in these sacrifices each year the same remembrance of sins is made. ⁴ For the blood of bulls and of goats cannot take away sins. ⁵ Therefore when he came into the world, he said, Sacrifice and offering thou dost not desire, but a body hast thou prepared me; ⁶ in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. ⁷ ¶ Then said I, Behold, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God. ⁸ Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou dost not desire, neither hadst pleasure therein, which are offered by the law; ⁹ then he said, Behold, I come to do thy will, O God. He took away the first, that he may establish the second. ¹⁰ In this will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus, the Christ, once for all. ¹¹ And so every priest stands daily ministering and offering many times the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins, ¹² but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, is seated at the right hand of God,
