¹ ¶ And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, his brother, and brought them apart up into a high mountain ² and [he] was transfigured before them, and his face shined as the sun, and his raiment was as white as the light. ³ And, behold, Moses and Elijah appeared unto them talking with him. ⁴ Then Peter answered and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to remain here; if thou desire, let us make three tabernacles here: one for thee and one for Moses and one for Elijah. ⁵ While he yet spoke, behold, a cloud of light overshadowed them, and, behold, a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. ⁶ And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and feared greatly. ⁷ Then Jesus came and touched them and said, Arise and be not afraid. ⁸ And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus only. ⁹ And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no one until the Son of man is risen from the dead. ¹⁰ Then his disciples asked him, saying, Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first? ¹¹ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall come first and restore all things. ¹² But I say unto you, That Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatever they pleased. Likewise the Son of man shall also suffer of them. ¹³ Then the disciples understood that he spoke unto them of John the Baptist. ¹⁴ ¶ And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, ¹⁵ Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is lunatic and suffers miserably; for many times he has fallen into the fire and often into the water. ¹⁶ And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. ¹⁷ Then Jesus answered and said, O unfaithful and crooked generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him here to me. ¹⁸ And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon departed out of him and the child was cured from that very hour. ¹⁹ Then the disciples came to Jesus apart and said, Why could not we cast him out? ²⁰ And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unfaithfulness; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove from here to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. ²¹ Howbeit this lineage of demons does not go out but by prayer and fasting. ²² ¶ And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men; ²³ and they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. Jesus said unto him, Then the sons are free. ²⁷ Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea and cast a hook and take up the first fish that comes up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a stater, a coin worth four drachmas; take that, and give it unto them for me and thee.

²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every beast that moves upon the earth.

³ Then Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh and said unto him, Thus hath the LORD God of the Hebrews said, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? Let my people go that they may serve me.

And as he came out, he would speak unto the sons of Israel that which he was commanded. ³⁵ And the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses that the skin of Moses’ face shone, and Moses would put the veil upon his face again until he would go in to speak with him.

²⁶ A half per head, that is, half a shekel, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, which were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

³⁴ ¶ Then a cloud covered the tabernacle of the testimony, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. ³⁵ And Moses was not able to enter into the tabernacle of the testimony because the cloud was upon it, and the glory of the LORD had it full.

²⁴ And there came a fire out from before the LORD and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat, which when all the people saw, they praised and fell on their faces.

And they seized them; and Elijah took them down to the brook Kishon and slew them there.

And he arose and followed her. ³¹ And Gehazi had gone on before them and had laid the staff upon the face of the child, but there was neither voice, nor attention. ⁷ ¶ So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto the crown of his head.

²² ¶ I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation I will praise thee. ²³ Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. ²⁴ For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the poor in spirit; neither has he hid his face from him, but when he cried unto him, he heard. ²⁵ My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation; I will pay my vows before those that fear him. ²⁶ The poor shall eat and be satisfied: those that seek him shall praise the LORD; your heart shall live for ever. ²⁷ All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto the LORD; and all the families of the Gentiles shall worship before thee. ²⁸ For the kingdom is the LORD’s, and he shall have dominion over the Gentiles. ²⁹ All those that are fat upon earth shall eat and worship; all those that go down to the dust shall bow before him; and no one can keep his own soul alive. ³⁰ A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. ³¹ They shall come and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he has done this.

²⁰ For the Father loves the Son and shows him all the things that he does, and he will show him greater works than these that ye may marvel. ²¹ For as the Father raises up the dead and gives them life; even so the Son gives life unto whom he will. ²² For the Father judges no man but has committed all judgment unto the Son ²³ that everyone should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who has sent him.

³² There is another that bears witness of me, and I know that the witness which he witnesses of me is true. ³³ Ye sent unto John, and he bore witness unto the truth. ³⁴ But I receive not testimony from man, but I say these things that ye might be saved. ³⁵ He was a burning and a shining light, and ye were willing to rejoice for one hour in his light. ³⁶ But I have greater testimony than that of John; for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me that the Father has sent me. ³⁷ And the Father himself, who has sent me, has borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time nor seen his appearance.

⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one that accuses you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. ⁴⁶ For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me, for he wrote of me. ⁴⁷ But if ye do not believe his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

⁶¹ But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at it, said unto them, Does this offend you?

⁴⁰ Jesus said unto her, Did I not say unto thee that if thou wouldest believe thou shalt see the glory of God?

²⁸ Father, clarify thy name. Then there came a voice from the heaven, saying, I have clarified it and will clarify it again. ²⁹ The people, therefore, that were present and heard it, said that it thundered; others said, An angel spoke to him. ³⁰ Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

⁸ Philip said unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it will suffice us. ⁹ Jesus said unto him, Have I been such a long time with you, and yet thou hast not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

⁹ ¶ As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. ¹⁰ If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

⁶ But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow has filled your heart.

²⁰ Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, and the world shall rejoice; but even though ye shall be sorrowful, your sorrow shall be turned into joy. ²¹ The woman, when she is in travail, has pain, because her hour is come; but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembers the anguish no more, for joy that a man is born into the world. ²² And ye now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and no one shall take your joy from you.

²⁴ ¶ Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my clarity, which thou hast given me, for thou hast loved me from before the foundation of the world.

²⁷ Then he said to Thomas, Reach here thy finger and behold my hands and reach here thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not unbelieving, but faithful.

¹⁴ But ye denied the Holy One and the Just and desired a murderer to be granted unto you ¹⁵ and killed the Author of life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And in the faith of his name, unto this man whom ye see and know, has confirmed his name; and the faith which is by him has given this man this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

²¹ whom it is certainly necessary that the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the age began. ²² For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things doing whatever he shall say unto you. ²³ And it shall come to pass that every soul which will not hear that prophet shall be destroyed from among the people.

¹⁰ be it known unto you all and to all the people of Israel that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him does this man stand here before you whole.

³⁷ This is that Moses, who said unto the sons of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren like unto me; him shall ye hear.

⁵² Who of the prophets have your fathers not persecuted? and they have slain those who announced before the coming of the Just One, of whom ye have now been the betrayers and murderers,

³ And as he proceeded, he came near Damascus; and suddenly there shone round about him a light from heaven; ⁴ and falling to the earth, he heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why dost thou persecute me? ⁵ And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I AM Jesus whom thou dost persecute; it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. ⁶ And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what it behooves thee to do.

²¹ It is good neither to eat flesh nor to drink wine nor do any thing by which thy brother stumbles or is offended or is sick.

¹ ¶ We then that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not please ourselves. ² Let each one of us please his neighbour in that which is good, unto edification. ³ For the Christ did not please himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of those that reproached thee fell on me.

⁵ Do not defraud one another, except it be with mutual consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer and come together again, that Satan not tempt you for your incontinency.

⁹ But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours becomes a stumblingblock to those that are weak.

¹³ Therefore, if food makes my brother to fall, I will never eat flesh nor do anything which may cause my brother to fall.

¹⁹ ¶ Therefore, though I am free regarding everyone, yet I have made myself slave unto all, that I might gain the more. ²⁰ And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to those that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those that are under the law; ²¹ to those that are without law, as without law (being not without law of God, but under the law of Christ), that I might gain those that are without law. ²² To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak; I am made all things to everyone, that I might by all means save some.

³² Be without offense, neither to the Jews nor to the Gentiles nor to the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of God; ³³ even as I please everyone in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

²³ ¶ For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread;

⁹ to another, faith by the same Spirit; to another, gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

² And though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

³ For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received: how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures ⁴ and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

⁷ But if the ministry of death in the letter engraved in stones was glorious, so that the sons of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance which glory was to fade away, ⁸ How shall not the ministry of the Spirit be for greater glory? ⁹ For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, much more shall the ministry of righteousness abound in glory. ¹⁰ For even that which was so glorious had no glory in this respect, in comparison with the glory that excels. ¹¹ For if that which fades away was glorious, much more shall that which remains be glorious.

³ Giving no offense in anything, that the ministry not be blamed,

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor that ye through his poverty might be enriched.

²⁷ in labour and travail, in many watches, in hunger and thirst, in many fasts, in cold and nakedness.

¹ ¶ This third time I am coming unto you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of his grace, in which he has made us accepted in the beloved;

¹⁸ praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching in this with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

²³ For I am in a strait between the two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better:

⁶ who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, ⁷ but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, made in the likeness of men,

¹³ who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son,

²² Separate yourselves from all appearance of evil.

⁷ in all things showing thyself as an example of good works, in doctrine showing integrity, seriousness, purity, ⁸ sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that the adversary may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

¹ ¶ God, having spoken many times and in many ways in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, ² has in these last times spoken unto us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the ages;

¹ ¶ Therefore, it is necessary that we with more diligence keep the things which we have heard, so that we do not fall. ² For if the word spoken by the ministry of angels was steadfast and every rebellion and disobedience received a just recompense of reward, ³ how shall we escape, if we belittle such great saving health? Which, having begun to be published by the Lord, has been confirmed unto us by those that heard him,

⁷ Thou didst make him a little lower than the angels; thou didst crown him with glory and honour and didst set him over the works of thy hands. ⁸ Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not see yet that all things are put under him.

¹ ¶ Therefore, brethren, saints, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus, ² who was faithful to him that appointed him over all his house, as also Moses was faithful. ³ For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the house has more honour than the house. ⁴ For every house is built by someone, but he that created all things is God. ⁵ And Moses verily was faithful over all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after, ⁶ but Christ as a son over his own house, which house we are, if we hold fast the confidence and the glorious hope firmly until the end.

¹⁶ For some of those that came out of Egypt with Moses, when they had heard, did provoke; howbeit not all. ¹⁷ But with whom was he indignant forty years? Was it not with those that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness? ¹⁸ And to whom he swore that they should not enter into his rest, but to those that disobeyed? ¹⁹ So we see that they could not enter in because of their unbelief.

⁹ and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal saving health unto all those that hearken unto him,

²⁵ See that you do not refuse him that speaks. For if those who refused him that spoke on earth did not escape, much less shall we escape, if we turn away from him that speaks from the heavens, ²⁶ whose voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised, saying, Yet even once, I shall shake not the earth only, but also the heaven.

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world that they might be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those that love him?

¹⁶ ¶ For we have not made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, following cunningly devised fables, but as eyewitnesses of his majesty. ¹⁷ For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. ¹⁸ And we heard this voice which came from heaven, when we were together with him in the holy mount.

² Beloved, now we are the sons of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be; but we know that if he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

⁷ Behold, he comes with the clouds, and every eye shall see him and those also who pierced him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail over him. Even so, Amen.

¹³ and in the midst of the seven lampstands one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girt about the breasts with a golden girdle. ¹⁴ His head and his hairs were white like white wool, as the snow, and his eyes were as a flame of fire ¹⁵ and his feet like unto brilliant metal as if they burned in a furnace and his voice as the sound of many waters. ¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword, and his countenance was as the sun when it shines in its strength. ¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I AM the first and the last,

¹¹ ¶ And I saw a great white throne and him that was seated upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and their place was not found.

²³ And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in her, for the clarity of God has illuminated it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

³ And there shall no longer be any cursed thing; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in her; and his slaves shall serve him; ⁴ and they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. ⁵ And there shall be no night there; and they need no lamp neither light of the sun; for the Lord God shall give them light; and they shall reign for ever and ever.
