¹² Then his disciples came and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this word?

¹³ And the messenger that had gone to call Micaiah spoke unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth; now let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them and speak that which is good. ¹⁴ And Micaiah said, As the LORD lives, all that the LORD says unto me, that will I speak.

²⁷ Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea and cast a hook and take up the first fish that comes up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a stater, a coin worth four drachmas; take that, and give it unto them for me and thee.

³² Be without offense, neither to the Jews nor to the Gentiles nor to the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of God; ³³ even as I please everyone in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

³ Giving no offense in anything, that the ministry not be blamed,

⁵ Unto whom we did not submit even for one hour that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, modest, benevolent, full of mercy and of good fruits, not judgmental, unfeigned.
