Mark 15 Cross References - EJ2000

1 ¶ And straightway in the morning the princes of the priests having held a consultation with the elders and with the scribes and with the whole council, took Jesus away bound and delivered him to Pilate. 2 And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he, answering, said unto him, Thou sayest it. 3 And the princes of the priests accused him of many things. 4 And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they accuse thee of. 5 But Jesus yet answered nothing, so that Pilate marvelled. 6 Now at that feast it was customary that he release unto them one prisoner, whoever they desired. 7 And there was one named Barabbas, who lay bound with those that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. 8 And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had always done unto them. 9 And Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 10 For he knew that the princes of the priests had delivered him for envy. 11 But the princes of the priests moved the multitude that he should rather release Barabbas unto them. 12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? 13 And they cried out again, crucify him. {Gr. stauroo – Hang him on a stake} 14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil has he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, crucify him. 15 ¶ And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. 16 And the soldiers led him away into the hall called Praetorium, and they call together the whole band. 17 And they clothed him with purple and platted a crown of thorns and put it about his head 18 and began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! 19 And they smote him on the head with a reed and spit upon him and bowing their knees worshipped him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him and put his own clothes on him and led him out to crucify him. 21 And they compel one Simon, a Cyrenian, who passed by coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross {Gr. stauros – stake}. 22 ¶ And they brought him unto the place of Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull. 23 And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh, but he received it not. 24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take. 25 And it was the third hour when they crucified him. 26 And the inscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS. 27 And with him they crucified two thieves: the one on his right hand and the other on his left. 28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which says, And he was numbered with the transgressors. 29 And those that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads and saying, Ah, thou that would destroy the temple of God and build it in three days, 30 save thyself and come down from the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}. 31 Likewise also the princes of the priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. 32 Let the Christ, King of Israel, descend now from the stake that we may see and believe. And those that were crucified {Gr. Stauroo – to hang on a stake} with him reviled him. 33 ¶ And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 35 And some of those that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calls Elijah. 36 And one ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar and put it on a reed and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down. 37 But Jesus, giving a great cry, expired. 38 Then the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom. 39 And when the centurion, who stood in front of him, saw that he so cried out and expired, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God. 40 There were also some women looking on afar off, among whom was Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James the lesser and of Joses, and Salome 41 (who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him and ministered unto him), and many other women who came up with him unto Jerusalem. 42 ¶ And now when the evening was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathaea, a noble senator, who also waited for the kingdom of God, came and went in boldly unto Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 44 And Pilate marvelled that he was already dead; and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he was already dead. 45 And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph. 46 And he bought fine linen and took him down and wrapped him in the linen and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre. 47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.

These are holy garments; and he shall wash his flesh with water and put them on. 5 ¶ And he shall take of the congregation of the sons of Israel two he goats as the sin and one ram as a burnt offering. 6 And Aaron shall cause the bullock of his sin to be brought, and make reconciliation for himself and for his house. 7 After that, he shall take the two goats and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony. 8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two he goats, one lot for the LORD and the other lot for Azazel. {Heb. entire removal} 9 And Aaron shall cause the he goat upon which the LORD’s lot fell to be brought and offer him for the sin. 10 But the he goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make the reconciliation upon him and to send him to Azazel into the wilderness. 11 And Aaron shall cause the bullock of his own sin to be brought and shall make the reconciliation for himself and for his house and shall kill the bullock of his own sin. 12 After that he shall take the censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD and his hands full of aromatic incense beaten small and bring it inside the veil. 13 And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, and the cloud of the incense shall cover the seat of reconciliation that is upon the testimony, and he shall not die. 14 Then he shall take of the blood of the bullock and sprinkle it with his finger towards the seat of reconciliation eastward; towards the seat of reconciliation he shall sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times. 15 ¶ After that, he shall kill the goat of the sin of the people and bring its blood inside the veil and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock and sprinkle it upon the seat of reconciliation and before the seat of reconciliation; 16 and he shall cleanse the sanctuary of the uncleanness of the sons of Israel and of their rebellions and of all their sins; in the same manner so shall he do for the tabernacle of the testimony, which dwells among them in the midst of their uncleanness. 17 And no man shall be in the tabernacle of the testimony when he enters in to make reconciliation in the sanctuary until he comes out and has made reconciliation for himself and for his household and for all the congregation of Israel. 18 And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD and reconcile it and shall take of the blood of the bullock and of the blood of the he goat and put it upon the horns of the altar round about. 19 And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times and cleanse it and sanctify it from the uncleanness of the sons of Israel.

John 2:18-22

18 Then the Jews answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? 19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Dissolve this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20 Then said the Jews, This temple was forty-six years in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days? 21 But he spoke of the temple of his body. 22 Therefore when he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

38 Jesus therefore, becoming enraged again in himself, came to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

John 11:47-52

47 Then the high priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, What shall we do? for this man does many signs. 48 If we let him thus alone, everyone will believe on him, and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and the nation. 49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all 50 nor consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation be lost. 51 And this he spoke not of himself; but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation; 52 and not for that nation only, but that he should also gather together in one the sons of God that were scattered abroad.

John 12:13

13 took branches of palm trees and went forth to meet him and cried, Hosanna; Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel.

John 12:23-24

23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour comes in which the Son of man shall be clarified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.

John 15:18-20

18 ¶ If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The slave is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also.

John 18:28-38

28 ¶ Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment, and it was early; and they themselves did not go into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the passover.

John 18:28

28 ¶ Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment, and it was early; and they themselves did not go into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the passover. 29 Pilate then went out unto them and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?

John 18:29-31

29 Pilate then went out unto them and said, What accusation bring ye against this man? 30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.

John 18:30-31

30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee. 31 Then Pilate said unto them, Take him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death;

John 18:31-31

31 Then Pilate said unto them, Take him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death; 32 that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying what death he should die. 33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again and called Jesus and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

John 18:33

33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again and called Jesus and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? 34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it unto thee of me? 35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me; what hast thou done? 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews; now, therefore, my kingdom is not from here. 37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I AM king. To this end I was born, and for this cause I came into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice. 38 Pilate said unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and said unto them, I find no fault at all in him.

John 18:38

38 Pilate said unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and said unto them, I find no fault at all in him. 39 But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover; will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

John 18:39

39 But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover; will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 40 Then they all cried again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

John 18:40

40 Then they all cried again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

John 19:1

1 ¶ Then Pilate, therefore, took Jesus and scourged him. 2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they put a purple robe on him 3 and said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands. 4 Pilate therefore went forth again and said unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. 5 Then Jesus came forth, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said unto them, Behold the man! 6 When the princes of the priests and the servants saw him, they cried out, saying, crucify him, crucify him. {Gr. stauroo – hang him on a stake} Pilate said unto them, Take him, and crucify him, for I find no fault in him.

John 19:6

6 When the princes of the priests and the servants saw him, they cried out, saying, crucify him, crucify him. {Gr. stauroo – hang him on a stake} Pilate said unto them, Take him, and crucify him, for I find no fault in him. 7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die because he made himself the Son of God.

John 19:9

9 and went again into the judgment hall and said unto Jesus, Where art thou from? But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 Then Pilate said unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee {Gr. stauroo – hang thee on a stake} and have power to release thee?

John 19:12

12 And from then on Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend; whosoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.

John 19:12-15

12 And from then on Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend; whosoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar. 13 Therefore when Pilate heard that word, he brought Jesus forth and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha. 14 And it was the preparation of the passover and about the sixth hour; then he said unto the Jews, Behold your King!

John 19:14-15

14 And it was the preparation of the passover and about the sixth hour; then he said unto the Jews, Behold your King!

John 19:14

14 And it was the preparation of the passover and about the sixth hour; then he said unto the Jews, Behold your King! 15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate said unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The high priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

John 19:15-15

15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate said unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The high priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. 16 ¶ So that then, he delivered him unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus and led him away.

John 19:16-16

16 ¶ So that then, he delivered him unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus and led him away. 17 And he, bearing his cross {Gr. stauros – stake}, went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew, Golgotha, 18 where they crucified him and two others with him, one on either side and Jesus in the middle.

John 19:18-22

18 where they crucified him and two others with him, one on either side and Jesus in the middle.

John 19:18

18 where they crucified him and two others with him, one on either side and Jesus in the middle. 19 ¶ And Pilate also wrote a title and put it above the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

John 19:19-27

19 ¶ And Pilate also wrote a title and put it above the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. 20 And many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near to the city; and it was written in Hebrew and Greek and Latin.

John 19:20-27

20 And many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near to the city; and it was written in Hebrew and Greek and Latin. 21 Then the high priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews, but that he said, I AM King of the Jews.

John 19:21-27

21 Then the high priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews, but that he said, I AM King of the Jews. 22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

John 19:22-27

22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written. 23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts (to each soldier a part); and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

John 19:23-24

23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts (to each soldier a part); and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. 24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be; that the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They parted my garments among them, and for my raiment they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

John 19:24-24

24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be; that the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They parted my garments among them, and for my raiment they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. 25 Now there stood by the cross {Gr. stauros – stake} of Jesus his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he said unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 27 Then he said to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home. 28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, I thirst. 29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar, and they filled a sponge with vinegar and put it upon hyssop and put it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished, and he bowed his head and gave the Spirit.

John 19:30

30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished, and he bowed his head and gave the Spirit. 31 ¶ The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross {Gr. stauros – stake} on the sabbath day (for that sabbath day was a high day) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.

John 19:31-37

31 ¶ The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross {Gr. stauros – stake} on the sabbath day (for that sabbath day was a high day) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away. 32 Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who were crucified with him. 33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was dead already, they did not break his legs, 34 but one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith blood and water came out. 35 And he that saw it gives testimony, and his testimony is true, and he knows that he says the truth, that ye also might believe. 36 For these things were done that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. 37 And again another scripture says, They shall look on him whom they pierced. 38 ¶ After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore and took the body of Jesus.

John 19:38

38 ¶ After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore and took the body of Jesus. 39 Then Nicodemus came also, who at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about one hundred pounds. 40 And they took the body of Jesus and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as is the manner of the Jews to bury. 41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new sepulchre, in which no one had yet been laid. 42 Therefore they laid Jesus there because of the Jews’ preparation day, for the sepulchre was near.

John 20:11-18

11 ¶ But Mary stood outside near the sepulchre weeping, and as she wept, she stooped down and looked into the sepulchre 12 and saw two angels in white sitting, the one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been placed. 13 And they said unto her, Woman, why dost thou weep? She said unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. 14 And when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said unto her, Woman, why dost thou weep? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, said unto him, Lord, if thou didst carry him off, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16 Jesus said unto her, Mary! Turning herself around, she said unto him, Rabboni, which is to say, Master. 17 Jesus said unto her, Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God. 18 Mary Magdalene came giving the news to the disciples, That I have seen the Lord, and he spoke these things unto me.

John 20:25-29

25 The other disciples, therefore, said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Unless I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the print of the nails and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. 26 ¶ And again eight days later, his disciples were within and Thomas with them; then Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said, Peace be unto you. 27 Then he said to Thomas, Reach here thy finger and behold my hands and reach here thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not unbelieving, but faithful. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 29 Jesus said unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed; blessed are those that have not seen and yet have believed.

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said unto them, Ye princes of the people and elders of Israel, 9 if we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole, 10 be it known unto you all and to all the people of Israel that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him does this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men in which we can be saved. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled, and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus.

3 And after the second veil was the tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies, 4 which had a golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, in which was the golden urn that had the manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the testament, 5 and over it the cherubim of glory shadowing the seat of reconciliation, of which we cannot now speak particularly. 6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. 7 But into the second the high priest went alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for his own ignorance, and for that of the people: 8 ¶ The Holy Spirit signifying in this, that the way into the sanctuary was not yet made manifest, as long as the first tabernacle was yet standing: 9 Which was a figure of that time present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience, 10 but in foods and drinks and different washings and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of correction. 11 But Christ being now come, high priest of the good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation, 12 neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the sanctuary designed for eternal redemption.
