¹⁶ and said unto those that sold the doves, Take these things away from here; do not make my Father’s house a house of merchandise.

⁵ even unto them will I give in my house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall never be cut off. ⁶ Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and that love the name of the LORD, to be his slaves, every one that keeps from polluting the sabbath, and takes hold of my covenant; ⁷ even them will I bring to the mountain of my holiness, and refresh them in the house of my prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar; for my house shall be called, House of prayer for all peoples. ⁸ The Lord GOD who gathers the outcasts of Israel says, I will still gather upon him his gathered ones. ⁹ ¶ All ye beasts of the field, all ye beasts of the forest; come to devour. ¹⁰ His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs; they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, they love to slumber. ¹¹ And these anxious dogs are insatiable, and even the shepherds did not know enough to understand: they all look to their own ways, each one for his gain, from his quarter.

¹¹ Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, said the LORD.

⁷ ¶ He is a merchant who has the balances of deceit in his hand; he loves to oppress. ⁸ And Ephraim said, Surely I have become rich, I have found riches for myself; no one shall find iniquity in me, nor sin in all my labours.

¹³ and said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

¹⁷ And he taught them, saying, Is it not written that my house shall be called house of prayer by all the nations? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

⁴⁹ And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? Knew ye not that it behooves me to be about my Father’s business?

¹⁷ ¶ But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work.

²⁹ My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
