³ I will take my knowledge from afar and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

⁴ The strong One, whose work is perfect: for all his ways are right; a God of truth and without iniquity, just and upright is he.

³ Shall God pervert that which is right or shall the Almighty pervert justice?

¹² But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? ¹³ Man never knew its price; neither is it found in the land of the living.

²⁰ ¶ Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding? ²¹ Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living and kept concealed from every fowl of the heaven. ²² Hell and death say, We have heard its fame with our ears. ²³ God understands its way, and he alone knows its place. ²⁴ For he looks unto the ends of the earth and sees under the whole heaven,

² Then the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, was kindled; against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

⁸ Certainly there is a spirit in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding.

⁵ For Job has said, I am righteous; and God has taken away my right.

¹⁰ ¶ Therefore, hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. ¹¹ For he shall pay man according to his work and cause every man to find according to his ways. ¹² Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

²³ Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out; he is excellent in power and in judgment, and in plenty of righteousness he will not afflict.

⁷ For the righteous LORD loves righteousness; his countenance beholds the upright.

⁴ if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hid treasures, ⁵ then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

¹ ¶ Righteous art thou, O LORD, even though I dispute with thee: even so, I will speak judgments with thee; Why does the way of the wicked prosper? All those that completely rebel against thee have peace.

⁷ O Lord, the righteousness belongs unto thee, but unto us the confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near and that are far off through all the lands where thou hast driven them because of their rebellion with which they have rebelled against thee.

¹⁴ And the LORD hastened upon the chastisement and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is just in all his works which he has done, for we did not listen to his voice.

¹ ¶ Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, ² saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? We have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him.

²⁷ Then he arose and went, and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure and had come to Jerusalem to worship, ²⁸ was returning and sitting in his chariot reading Isaiah the prophet. ²⁹ Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near and join thyself to this chariot. ³⁰ And Philip ran there to him and heard him read the prophet Isaiah and said, Dost thou understand what thou readest? ³¹ And he said, How can I, except someone should guide me? And he besought Philip to come up and sit with him. ³² The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth; ³³ in his humiliation his judgment was taken away, and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. ³⁴ And the eunuch answered Philip and said, I pray thee, of whom does the prophet speak this? of himself or of some other? ³⁵ Then Philip opened his mouth and began at the same scripture and preached unto him the gospel of Jesus. ³⁶ And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water; and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what hinders me to be baptized? ³⁷ And Philip said, If thou dost believe with all thine heart, thou may. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. ³⁸ And he commanded the chariot to stand still, and they went both down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. ³⁹ And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, so that the eunuch saw him no more, and he went on his way rejoicing. ⁴⁰ But Philip was found at Azotus, and passing through, he preached the gospel in all the cities until he came to Caesarea.

²⁵ whom God purposed for reconciliation through faith in his blood for the manifestation of his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past, by the patience of God, ²⁶ manifesting in this time his righteousness that he only be the just one and the justifier of him that is of the faith of Jesus.

¹⁴ ¶ What shall we say then? Is there injustice in God? No, in no wise.

⁶ But thus saith the righteousness which is by faith, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven (that is, to bring the Christ down from above)? ⁷ Or, Who shall descend into the deep (that is, to bring up the Christ again from the dead)? ⁸ But what does it say? The word is near thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach,

⁵ And if any of you lacks wisdom, let them ask of God (who gives abundantly to all, and without reproach), and it shall be given them.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, modest, benevolent, full of mercy and of good fruits, not judgmental, unfeigned.

³ And they sing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
