¹⁰ Then he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, behold, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

¹⁰ ¶ And the angel of the LORD also said unto her, I will multiply thy seed so exceedingly that it shall not be numbered for the multitude.

¹⁶ And I will bless her and give thee a son also of her; yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of Gentiles; kings of peoples shall be of her.

¹⁹ And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed, and thou shalt call his name Isaac (laughter); and I will confirm my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant and with his seed after him.

²¹ But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

¹³ Then the LORD said unto Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child when I am old? ¹⁴ Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

² For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

¹⁵ ¶ And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time ¹⁶ and said, By myself I have sworn, said the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son;

³ And the angel of the LORD appeared unto this woman and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren and hast had no children, but thou shalt conceive and bear a son. ⁴ Now keep thyself and drink no wine nor strong drink and eat no unclean thing. ⁵ For thou shalt conceive and bear a son, and no razor shall come on his head, for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb; and he shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

¹⁶ And he said, At the appointed time, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, No, my lord, thou man of God, do not deceive thy handmaid. ¹⁷ But the woman conceived and gave birth to a son at the appointed time that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

¹³ But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias, for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

⁸ That is, Those who are sons of the flesh, these are not the sons of God; but those who are sons of the promise are counted in the generation. ⁹ For the word of the promise is this, At this time I will come, and Sara shall have a son.

²³ But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, but he of the freewoman was born through the promise.

²⁸ So that we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
