² In this we know that we love the sons of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.

³⁴ A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. ³⁵ By this shall everyone know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

¹⁷ This I command you, that ye love one another.

⁵ But whosoever keeps his word, in him verily is the charity of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

²² and whatsoever we ask, we receive of him because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. ²³ ¶ And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he has commanded us. ²⁴ And he that keeps his commandments dwells in him, and he in him. And in this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

²¹ And we have this commandment from him, That he who loves God loves his brother also.
