And they come into the fields of Moab and continue there. ³ And Eli Melech, the man of Noomiy dies; and she and her two sons survive. ⁴ And they birth women of Moab; the name of the one, Orpah and the name of the second, Ruth; and they settle there about ten years. ⁵ And both Machlon and Kilyon also die; and the woman survives her two children and her man. ⁶ And she rises with her daughters in law, to return from the fields of Moab: for she heard that Yah Veh visits his people in the fields of Moab in giving them bread. ⁷ So she goes with her two daughters in law from the place she was; and they go on the way to return to the land of Yah Hudah. ⁸ And Noomiy says to her two daughters in law, Go, each woman, return to the house of your mother; Yah Veh work mercy with you, as you worked with the dead and with me. ⁹ Yah Veh give you to find rest, each woman in the house of her man. - and she kisses them. And they lift their voice and weep ¹⁰ and say to her, Surely we return with you to your people. ¹¹ And Noomiy says, Turn back, my daughters! Why go with me? Are there yet sons in my inwards to be your men? ¹² Turn back, my daughters! Go! For I am too old to have a man. If I say, I have hope, and even have a man tonight and even birth sons ¹³ - await you them until they be grown? - ban yourselves from having men? No, my daughters; for it embitters me mightily for your sakes that the hand of Yah Veh goes against me. ¹⁴ And they lift their voice and weep again; and Orpah kisses her mother in law; and Ruth adheres to her; ¹⁵ and says, Behold, your sister in law returns to her people and to her elohim; you return after your sister in law. ¹⁶ And Ruth says, Intercede not that I leave you, or return from following after you; for where you go, I go; and where you stay overnight, I stay overnight; your people are my people and your Elohim, my Elohim; ¹⁷ where you die, I die and there I entomb; Yah Veh work to me and add also, if aught but death separate you and me. ¹⁸ And she sees that she strengthens herself to go with her; and she ceases wording to her. ¹⁹ And the two go until they come to Beth Lechem. And so be it, they come to Beth Lechem, and the whole city quakes about them and they say, Is this Noomiy? ²⁰ And she says to them, Call me not Noomiy/Pleasant; call me Bitter; for Shadday has mightily embittered me. ²¹ I go out full and Yah Veh turns me back. Why call me Noomiy, seeing Yah Veh answers against me and Shadday vilifies me? ²² And Noomiy returns with her daughter in law, Ruth the Moabiyth who return from the fields of Moab; and they come to Beth Lechem in the beginning of barley harvest.

¹⁰ and there is a famine in the land: and Abram descends into Misrayim to sojourn there; for the famine is heavy in the land.

¹ And so be it, Abram is a son of ninety years and nine years and Yah Veh is seen by Abram and says to him, I am El Shadday; walk at my face and be integrious:

And there is a famine in the land, apart from the first famine in the days of Abraham: and Yischaq goes to Abi Melech sovereign of the Peleshethiym to Gerar.

²⁷ And he comes near and kisses him: and he scents the scent of his clothing and blesses him and says, See, the scent of my son is as the scent of a field Yah Veh blesses:

THE BROTHERS OF YOSEPH RETURN TO MISRAYIM
And the famine is heavy in the land.

¹⁴ and El Shadday give you mercies at the face of the man, that he send away your other brother and Ben Yamin. - in bereaving, I am bereaved.

¹⁵ and he kisses all his brothers and weeps on them: and after that his brothers word with him.

¹⁵ And he blesses Yoseph and says, Elohim, at whose face my fathers Abraham and Yischaq walked, Elohim who tends me all my life long to this day,

THE TORAH ON THE LEVIRATE When brothers settle together and one of them dies, having no son, the woman of him who died marries not an outsider man - a stranger: her levirate goes in to her and takes her to him to woman and becomes her levirate:

¹⁵ Wherever they go the hand of Yah Veh is against them for evil as Yah Veh worded and as Yah Veh oathed to them: and they are mightily depressed. ¹⁶
YAH VEH RAISES JUDGES
And Yah Veh raises judges who save them from the hand of their plunderers; ¹⁷ and they also hearken not to their judges: and they whore after other elohim and prostrate themselves to them: they turn aside hastily from the way their fathers walked hearing the misvoth of Yah Veh - thus they work not. ¹⁸ And Yah Veh raises them judges, and Yah Veh is with the judge and saves them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for Yah Veh sighs because of their groanings at the face of their oppressors; and oppresses them.

²⁴ Possess you not what Kemosh your elohim gave you to possess? So whomever Yah Veh our Elohim dispossesses from our face, them we possess.

And after him, Ibsan of Beth Lechem judges Yisra El:

⁸ and the man goes from the city of Beth Lechem Yah Hudah to find where to sojourn: and as he works his way he comes to mount Ephrayim to the house of Michah Yah.

THE WHORING CONCUBINE OF A LEVIY
And so be it, in those days, there is no sovereign in Yisra El, and there is a man - a Leviy sojourning on the flank of mount Ephrayim, who takes a woman - a concubine from Beth Lechem Yah Hudah: ² and his concubine whores against him; and goes from him to the house of her father to Beth Lechem Yah Hudah; and she is there four months of days:

¹¹ And Boaz answers and says to her, In being told, I am told, of all you worked to your mother in law after the death of your man; and how you left your father and your mother and the land of your nativity and come to a people you knew not three yesters ago. ¹² May Yah Veh shalam your deed and a complete hire be given you of Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El, under whose wings you come to seek refuge.

²⁰ And Noomiy says to her daughter in law, Blessed - he of Yah Veh who forsakes not his mercy to the living and to the dead. And Noomiy says to her, The man is near to us - of our redeemers.

²³ - and she sticks by the lasses of Boaz to glean the finish of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and settles with her mother in law.

And Noomiy her mother in law says to her, My daughter, seek I not rest for you, to well-please you?

THE WOMEN OF EL QANAH
And so be it, one man of Ramahayim Sophim of mount Ephrayim; and his name is El Qanah, the son of Yerocham the son of Eli Hu the son of Tochu the son of Suph - an Ephrathiy:

⁷ Yah Veh dispossesses, and enriches; he abases, and lifts: ⁸ he raises the poor from the dust; and lifts the needy from the dunghill - to set them among volunteers - to inherit the throne of honor: for the pillars of the earth are unto Yah Veh and on them he set the world.

²¹ and Yah Veh visits Hannah so that she conceives and births three sons and two daughters: and the lad Shemu El grows at the face of Yah Veh.

¹⁷ And he says, What is the word he words to you? I beseech you, conceal not from me: may Elohim work thus to you and thus also add, if you conceal from me one word of all the words he worded to you.

⁹ O that Elohim work thus to Abi Ner, and add also; except, as Yah Veh oathed to David, even thus work I to him

³⁵ And all the people come to have David chew bread while it is still day, and David oaths, saying, Thus work Elohim to me, and add also, if I taste bread or aught at all, until the face of the sun downs.

¹⁹ Then the sovereign says to Ittay the Gittiy, Why go you - you also with us? Return to your place and settle with the sovereign: for you are a stranger and also an exile. ²⁰ Yesterday you come - and this day do I have you wander in going with us? Seeing that I go wherever I go, return - return with your brothers: mercy and truth be with you. ²¹ And Ittay answers the sovereign and says, Yah Veh lives and adoni the sovereign lives, surely in whatever place my adoni the sovereign is - whether in death or life, even there also your servant is.

REVENGE OF THE GIBONIY
And there is a famine in the days of David - three years - year after year; and David seeks the face of Yah Veh. And Yah Veh says, It is for Shaul and for the bloody house, because he deathified the Giboniy.

⁹ and he gives them into the hands of the Giboniy and they impale them in the mountain at the face of Yah Veh: and they fall sevenfold together - deathified in the days of harvest at the first - in the beginning of barley harvest.

THE OIL OF THE WIDOW
And one woman of the women of the sons of the prophets cries to Eli Shua, saying, Your servant my man died; and you know your servant awed Yah Veh: and the exactor comes to take my two children for servants.

³¹ And he says, Elohim work thus and add also to me, if the head of Eli Shua the son of Shaphat stands on him this day.

And Eli Shua words to the woman whose son he enlivened, saying, Rise and go - you and your household and sojourn wherever you can sojourn: for Yah Veh called for a famine; and also it comes on the land seven years. ² And the woman rises and works after the word of the man of Elohim: and she goes with her household and sojourns in the land of the Peleshethiy seven years. ³
THE LAND OF THE WOMAN RESTORED
And so be it, at the end of seven years, the woman returns from the land of the Peleshethiy: and goes to cry to the sovereign for her house and for her field.

²¹ and says, Naked came I from the belly of my mother and naked I return; Yah Veh gives and Yah Veh takes; blessed - the name of Yah Veh.

¹⁷ Behold, blithe - the man whom Elohah reproves; so spurn not the discipline of Shadday;

⁴ for the arrows of Shadday are within me, whereof the poison drinks up my spirit; the terrors of Elohah line up against me.

¹⁷ you renew your witnesses against me and abound your vexation with me; changes and hostility are against me.

⁷ By probing, find you Elohah? - find the conclusion of Shadday?

²⁶ For you inscribe bitternesses against me that I possess the perversities of my youth.

⁸ you pluck me for a witness; my emaciation rises within me and answers to my face:

⁶ know now that Elohah twisted me and surrounded me with his lair.

²¹ Grant me charism - grant me charism, O my friends; for the hand of Elohah touches me.

³ but to the holy in the earth; and to the mighty in whom is all my delight.

⁴ when by day and night your hand is heavy on me; my moisture turns into the parch of summer. Selah.

¹⁹ many are the evils of the just; Yah Veh rescues him from them all.

³ The words of his mouth are mischief and deceit; he ceases comprehending, and to well-please:

² for your arrows penetrate me and your hand penetrates me.

⁹ I am mute, I open not my mouth; because you - you worked it. ¹⁰ Turn aside your plague from me; I am finished off by the choking of your hand.

¹⁰ Hearken, O daughter, and see and spread your ear; forget your own people and the house of your father;

¹⁴ For all the day long I am touched and reproofed in the morning.

¹⁵ I am humbled - expiring since ladhood; I bear your terrors - perplexed;

³⁰ If his sons forsake my torah and walk not in my judgments; ³¹ if they profane my statutes and guard not my misvoth; ³² then I visit their rebellion with the scion and their perversity with plagues:

¹⁴ so that the grass sprouts for the animals and herbs for the service of humanity; to bring forth bread from the earth: ¹⁵ and wine to cheer the heart of man and ointment to shine his face and bread to support the heart of man.

¹⁶ He called for a famine on the land; he broke the whole rod of bread;

³⁴ a fruitful land to salt for the evil of them who settle therein.

⁵ he gives the prey to them who awe him; he eternally remembers his covenant:

⁶³ I am a companion to all who awe you and to them who guard your precepts.

⁵ as for such as pervert to their crookednesses, Yah Veh walks them with the doers of mischief. Shalom on Yisra El.

¹⁵ In blessing, I bless her hunt; I satisfy her needy with bread;

¹⁵ the eyes of all expect you; and you give them their food on time:

⁷ who works judgment for the oppressed; who gives bread to the famished. Yah Veh looses the bound;

¹⁴ who sets shalom in your borders and satisfies you with the fat of the wheat;

¹⁷ A friend loves at all times and a brother is birthed for tribulation.

²⁴ A man with friends shows himself friendly; and there is a lover who adheres closer than a brother.

⁸ vanity and words of lies, remove far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches; tear my statute bread for me;

YAH VEH MERCIES YAAQOV
Because Yah Veh mercies Yaaqov, and yet chooses Yisra El, and sets them in their own soil: and the sojourners join with them and scrape them to the house of Yaaqov:

⁷ Is this your city jumping for joy - whose antiquity is of ancient days? - her own feet bear her afar off to sojourn.

¹³ I equate until morning; as a lion, thus he breaks all my bones: from day to night you shalam me.

²¹ Then you say in your heart, Who birthed me these, seeing I aborted and am sterile - an exile, turned aside? And who nourished these? Behold, I alone survive; These - whence are they?

¹⁰ For as the downpour and the snow descend from the heavens, and returns not - but saturates the earth and births and sprouts - to give seed to the seeder and bread to the eater:

¹⁹ Your own evil disciplines you and your own apostasies reprove you: so know and see that it is evil and bitter to forsake Yah Veh your Elohim, and that my fear is not in you - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh Sabaoth.

DROUGHT, FAMINE, SWORD, AND PESTILENCE
And so be the word of Yah Veh to Yirme Yah concerning the dearth:

¹⁰ For thus says Yah Veh: According to my mouth, when seventy years are fulfilled at Babel, I visit you and raise my good word toward you and return you to to this place.

¹⁵ All who pass by the way clap their palms at you; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Yeru Shalem, Is this the city of whom is said, Total beauty? - the joy of the whole earth?
