PILOTS, PASSENGERS, AND SAILERS CRY OVER THE FALL OF BABEL
And every pilot and all the homogeneous crowd in sailers and ship crew and as many as work by sea stand from afar;

¹⁴ Howl, you ships of Tarshish: for your stronghold is ravaged.

⁹ And these two come to you in a blink in one day - bereavement and widowhood: they come on you in their integrity for the abundance of your sorceries, and for the mighty might of your charms:

⁸ Suddenly Babel falls and breaks: howl for her; take balm for her sorrow, if so be, she heals.

⁶ And the perversity of the daughter of my people greatens above the sin of Sodom - overturned as in a blink and no hands writhed over her.

²⁷ your wealth, and your markets, your merchandise, your mariners, and your sailers, your breach holders, and the pledgers of your merchandise, and all your men of war - in you and in all your congregation among you fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin. ²⁸ The suburbs quake at the voice of the cry of your sailers: ²⁹ and all who manipulate the oar - the mariners and all the sailers of the sea descend from their ships; they stand on the land: ³⁰ and hearken their voice against you and cry bitterly and ascend dust on their heads: they wallow themselves in the ashes: ³¹ and in balding, they balden themselves for you, and gird themselves with saq; and they weep for you with bitterness of soul and bitter chopping: ³² and in their lamentation they lift a lamentation for you and lament over you, What is as Sor - as the severed midst the sea? ³³ In your markets going from the seas, you satisfied many people; you enriched the sovereigns of the earth with the abundance of your wealth and of your merchandise. ³⁴ In the time you are broken by the seas in the depths of the waters your merchandise and all your congregation fall in your midst. ³⁵ All the settlers of the islands astonish at you and their sovereigns shudder with horror - irritated in their face: ³⁶ the merchants among the people hiss at you; you become terrors, and are not eternal.

⁶ and the great sailer approaches him, and says to him, What mean you, O sound sleeper? Rise, call on your Elohim, if so be that Elohim shine on us that we not destruct.

¹⁶ And the ten horns you see on the beast, these hate the whore and make her desolate and naked and eat her flesh and burn her in fire.

¹⁰ standing from afar for the awe of her torture, wording, Woe! Woe that megalopolis Babel! - that mighty city! because in one hour is your judgment iis come. ¹¹
MERCHANTS WEEP OVER THE FALL OF BABEL
And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her; because no one markets her wares never more

¹⁹ And they cast dust on their heads and cry, weeping and mourning, wording, Woe! Woe that megalopolis, wherein all who had sailers in the sea enriched from her preciousnesses! Because in one hour she desolated.
