¹⁶ The eminent who lacks discernment, is also a great oppressor; and he who hates greed, prolongs his days.

²¹ and you - seek valiant men from all the people such as awe Elohim, men of truth, hating greed; and over them set governors of thousands, governors of hundreds, governors of fifties and governors of tens:

¹⁰ And the children who grew up with him word to him, saying, Say thus to this people who word to you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, but swiften it to us - word to them thus, My pinky is thicker than the loins of my father!

¹⁴ and words to them after the counsel of the children, saying, My father made your yoke heavy and I - I add to your yoke: my father disciplined you with whips, and I - I discipline you with scorpions.

¹⁵ the former governors at my face are heavy to the people and take bread and wine of them, besides forty shekels of silver; also their lads dominate over the people: but I work not thus at the face of the awe of Elohim:

¹ And I return and see all the oppressions worked under the sun; and behold, the tears of the oppressed who have no one to sigh; and the force of the hand of their oppressors who have no one to sigh.

¹² As for my people, exploiters exact from them and women reign over them. O my people, they who blithe you cause you to stray, and swallow the way of your paths.

¹⁵ He who walks in justness and words straightly; he who spurns the gain of oppressions; who shakes his palms from upholding bribes; who shuts his ears from hearing of blood and binds his eyes from seeing evil: ¹⁶ he tabernacles on high; his secure loft, the huntholds of rocks: he is given bread; his waters are trustworthy.

¹⁵ Reign you, because you are inflamed in cedar? Your father - ate and drank he not? Yes, he worked judgment and justness - and for his own good: ¹⁶ he pleaded the cause of the humble and needy; - and for his good: Was this not to know me? - an oracle of Yah Veh. ¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart are for naught but your greedy gain and for pouring innocent blood and for oppression and to work violence.
