And so be it, Sanballat hears we build the wall and he inflames and abounds his vexation and he derides the Yah Hudiym: ² and he says at the face of his brothers and the men of valour of Shomeron, and says, What work these languid Yah Hudiym? Forsake they to themselves? Sacrifice they? Finish they in a day? Enliven they the stones from the heaps of the dust that are burnt? ³ And Tobi Yah the Ammoniy is by him, and he says, Whatever they build, if a fox ascends, even he splits their stone wall. ⁴ Hear, O our Elohim; for we are disrespected: turn their reproach on their own head and give them for plunder in the land of captivity: ⁵ and neither cover their perversity nor wipe away their sin from your face: for they vex you in front of the builders. ⁶ And we build the wall; and all the wall is bound to the half thereof: for the people have a heart to work. ⁷ And so be it, Sanballat and Tobi Yah and the Arabiy and the Ammoniy and the Ashdodiy hear the walls of Yeru Shalem are ascended and the breaches begin to stop; and they inflame mightily; ⁸ and all together they conspire to come and fight Yeru Shalem and work error to it: ⁹ and we pray to our Elohim and stand an underguard against them by day and by night, at their face. ¹⁰
THE YAH HUDIYM DISCOURAGED
And Yah Hudah says, The force of the burdenbearers falters and dust abounds so that we are not able to build the wall: ¹¹ and our tribulators say they neither know nor see, until we come among them and slaughter them and cease the work. ¹² And so be it, the Yah Hudiym who settle by them come, and say to us ten times, From all places wherever you return to us - . ¹³ And I stand in the nether parts of the places behind the wall and on the clearing - yes, I stand the people by their families with their swords, their javelins and their bows: ¹⁴ and I see and rise and say to the nobles and to the prefects and to the rest of the people, Awe not at their face! ¹⁵ and I put enmity between you and between the woman and between your seed and between her seed; he crushes your head and you crush his heel.

⁷ and your father mocked me and changed my hire ten times; but Elohim gives him to not vilify me:

⁴¹ Thus - twenty years in your house; I served you fourteen years for your two daughters and six years for your flocks: and you changed my hire ten times.

¹⁴ Yah Veh fights for you - and you hush.

²⁵ and clogs* their chariot wheels so that they drive them with heaviness: so that the Misrayim say, Let us flee from the face of Yisra El; for Yah Veh fights for them against the Misrayim. *clogs: see Lamsa

⁹ And when you go to war in your land against the tribulator who tribulates you, then you blast blast with the trumpets; and you become remembered at the face of Yah Veh your Elohim and you become saved from your enemies.

³¹ And the men who ascended with him say, We cannot ascend against the people; for they are stronger than we.

⁹ only neither rebel against Yah Veh, nor awe the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence turns aside from them and Yah Veh is with us: - awe them not.

²² Because all those men who see my honor and my signs which I worked in Misrayim and in the wilderness; and now they test me these ten times and hearken not to my voice;

⁹ and they ascended to the wadi of Eshcol and saw the land and discouraged the heart of the sons of Yisra El, to not go into the land Yah Veh gave them.

²¹ see, Yah Veh your Elohim gives the land at your face: ascend and possess it, as Yah Veh Elohim of your fathers words you; neither awe, nor dismay.

²⁹ Then I said to you, Neither dread nor awe them. ³⁰ Yah Veh your Elohim, who goes at your face, fights for you, according to all he worked for you in Misrayim in front of your eyes:

JUDGE YIPHTACH
And the sons of Ammon cry out and encamp in Gilad; and the sons of Yisra El gather and encamp in Mispeh: ¹⁸ and man to friend, the people and governors of Gilad say, Whatever man begins to fight the sons of Ammon becomes head over all the settlers of Gilad.

¹² And Yiphtach sends angels to the sovereign of the sons of Ammon, saying, What have you to do with me, that you are come to me to fight me in my land? ¹³ And the sovereign of the sons of Ammon says to the angels of Yiphtach, Because Yisra El took away my land, when they ascended from Misrayim, from Arnon to Yabboq and to Yarden: now restore them in shalom. ¹⁴
JUDGE YIPHTACH DEFENDS THE HONOR OF YISRA EL
And Yiphtach adds to send angels to the sovereign of the sons of Ammon: ¹⁵ and says to him, Thus says Yiphtach, Yisra El took neither the land of Moab nor the land of the sons of Ammon: ¹⁶ for in ascending from Misrayim Yisra El walked through the wilderness to the Reed sea and came to Qadesh. ¹⁷ And Yisra El sent angels to the sovereign of Edom, saying, Let me, I beseech you, pass through your land? And the sovereign of Edom hearkened not thereto: and also the sovereign of Moab; and he willed not: and Yisra El settled in Qadesh. ¹⁸ And he went through the wilderness and surrounded the land of Edom and the land of Moab and came by the rising of the sun of the land of Moab and encamped beyond Arnon; but came not within the border of Moab: for Arnon is the border of Moab. ¹⁹ And Yisra El sent angels to Sichon sovereign of the Emoriy the sovereign of Heshbon; and Yisra El said to him, Let us pass, we beseech you, through your land to my place? ²⁰ And Sichon trusted not Yisra El to pass through his border: but Sichon gathered all his people together and encamped in Yahsah and fought Yisra El: ²¹ and Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El gave Sichon and all his people into the hand of Yisra El; and they smote them: so Yisra El possesses all the land of the Emoriy - the settlers of that land. ²² And they possess all the borders of the Emoriy from Arnon to Yabboq and from the wilderness to Yarden. ²³ And now Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El dispossesses the Emoriy from the face of his people Yisra El - that you possess it? ²⁴ Possess you not what Kemosh your elohim gave you to possess? So whomever Yah Veh our Elohim dispossesses from our face, them we possess. ²⁵ And now are you any better than Balaq the son of Sippor sovereign of Moab? in striving, strives he against Yisra El? or in fighting, fights he against them ²⁶ - while Yisra El settles in Heshbon and her daughters and in Aroer and her daughters and in all the cities along by the hand of Arnon for three hundred years? Why rescue you not them within that time? ²⁷ I - I sin not against you; but you work me evil to fight me: Yah Veh the Judge judges this day between the sons of Yisra El and between the sons of Ammon. ²⁸ The sovereign of the sons of Ammon hearkens not to the words Yiphtach sends him: ²⁹ and the Spirit of Yah Veh comes on Yiphtach: and he passes over Gilad and Menash Sheh and passes over Mispeh of Gilad; and from Mispeh of Gilad he passes over the sons of Ammon. ³⁰
THE VOW OF JUDGE YIPHTACH
And Yiphtach vows a vow to Yah Veh and says, If in giving you give the sons of Ammon into my hands, ³¹ then so be it, whatever comes from the doors of my house to meet me when I return in shalom from the sons of Ammon becomes to Yah Veh; and I holocaust it for a holocaust. ³² So Yiphtach passes over to the sons of Ammon to fight them; and Yah Veh gives them into his hands: ³³ he smites them from Aroer until you come to Minnith - twenty cities and to Abel Keramin with a mighty great stroke. Thus he subdues the sons of Ammon at the face of the sons of Yisra El. ³⁴
THE DAUGHTER OF JUDGE YIPHTACH
And Yiphtach comes to his house in Mispeh; and behold, his daughter comes to meet him with tambourines and with round dances: and she is his only, child; beside her he has neither son nor daughter: ³⁵ and so be it, when he sees her, he rips his clothes and says, Aha, my daughter! In kneeling, I kneel and you become the one for whom I kneel: for I gaped my mouth to Yah Veh and I cannot turn back. ³⁶ And she says to him, My father, you gaped your mouth to Yah Veh: work to me what comes from your mouth; since Yah Veh worked vengeance for you on your enemies the sons of Ammon. ³⁷ And she says to her father, Work this word for me: Release me two months, to ascend and descend on the mountains and weep over my virginity - I and my friends. ³⁸ And he says, Go. - and he sends her away for two months: and she goes with her friends and weeps over her virginity on the mountains. ³⁹ And so be it, at the end of two months, she returns to her father, who worked with her the vow he vowed: and she knew not a man. And it is a statute in Yisra El, ⁴⁰ that the daughters of Yisra El come days by days to celebrate the daughter of Yiphtach the Giladiy four days a year.

But the sons of Yisra El say, We flee and tear them away from the city to the highways. ³³ And all the men of Yisra El rise from their place and line up at Baal Tamar: and the lurkers of Yisra El come from their places - from the barrens of Gibah: ³⁴ ten thousand chosen men of all Yisra El and come against Gibah; and the war is heavy: but they know not that evil touches them. ³⁵ And Yah Veh smites Ben Yamin at the face of Yisra El: and that day the sons of Yisra El ruin of the Ben Yaminiy twenty-five thousand and a hundred men - all who draw the sword. ³⁶ And the sons of Ben Yamin see they are smitten: for the men of Yisra El give place to the Ben Yaminiy, because they confide in the lurkers they set beside Gibah: ³⁷ and the lurkers hasten and spread on Gibah; and the lurkers draw along and smite all the city with the mouth of the sword. ³⁸ And there becomes a season to the men of Yisra El with the lurkers, to make an abounding heaviness of smoke ascend from the city. ³⁹ And the men of Yisra El return in the war, and Ben Yamin begins to smite and pierce about thirty persons of the men of Yisra El: for they say, In smiting, they are smitten at our face as in the first war. ⁴⁰ And the signal - a pillar of smoke begins to holocaust from the city, the Ben Yaminiy turn face behind them, and behold, the city totally holocausts to the heavens. ⁴¹ And the men of Yisra El turn again, and the men of Ben Yamin hasten: for they see that evil touches them: ⁴² and they turn from the face of the men of Yisra El to the way of the wilderness; and the war overtakes them: and they ruin them who come in their midst from the cities. ⁴³ Thus they surround the Ben Yaminiy and pursue them and tread them down with ease over against Gibah from the rising sun. ⁴⁴ And eighteen thousand men of Ben Yamin fall - all men of valour: ⁴⁵ and they turn face and flee toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon: and they glean five thousand of their men in the highways; and adhere after them to Gidom; and smite two thousand of their men: ⁴⁶ and all who fall that day of Ben Yamin - twenty-five thousand men who draw the sword - all men of valour. ⁴⁷ And six hundred men turn face and flee to the wilderness to the rock Rimmon and settle in the rock Rimmon four months: ⁴⁸ and the men of Yisra El turn on the sons of Ben Yamin and smite them with the mouth of the sword - the integrious of city, to animals, and to all they find: also they set on fire all the cities they find.

And the Peleshethiy take the ark of Elohim and bring it from Eben Ezer to Ashdod: ² and the Peleshethiy take the ark of Elohim and bring it into the house of Dagon and set it beside Dagon.

And Yah Nathan says to his instrument bearer, Ascend after me: for Yah Veh gives them into the hand of Yisra El.

²⁶ And David says to the men who stand by him, saying, What work you to the man who smites this Peleshethiy and turns aside the reproach from Yisra El? Who is this uncircumcised Peleshethiy, to reproach the ranks of the living Elohim?

⁴³ And the Peleshethiy says to David, Am I a dog, that you come to me with staves? - and the Peleshethiy belittles David by his elohim. ⁴⁴ And the Peleshethiy says to David, Come to me and I give your flesh to the flyers of the heavens and to the animals of the field.

DAVID DEFEATS THE SONS OF AMMON AND THE ARAMIY
And so be it, afterward, the sovereign of the sons of Ammon dies and Hanun his son reigns in his stead. ² And David says, I work mercy to Hanun the son of Nachash as his father worked mercy to me. And David sends to sigh over him by the hand of his servants concerning his father: and the servants of David come into the land of the sons of Ammon. ³ And the governors of the sons of Ammon say to Hanun their adoni, In your eyes, is it because David honors your father, that he sends to sigh over you? Sends not David his servants to you to probe the city and to spy it out and to overturn it? ⁴ And Hanun takes the servants of David and shaves off one half of their beards and cuts off their garments in the middle to their buttocks and sends them away. ⁵ And they tell David; and he sends to meet them; because the men shame mightily. And the sovereign says, Settle at Yericho until your beards sprout and return.

¹² Strengthen! - Strengthen for our people and for the cities of our Elohim: and Yah Veh works good in his eyes.

³¹ And one tells David, saying, Achiy Thophel is among the conspirators with Abi Shalom. And David says, O Yah Veh, I pray you, in follying, folly the counsel of Achiy Thophel.

² and I come on him - belabored and weak handed; and tremble him: and all the people with him flee; and I smite the sovereign only:

¹⁴ And Abi Shalom and all the men of Yisra El say, The counsel of Hushay the Arkiy is better than the counsel of Achiy Thophel: and Yah Veh misvahs to break down the good counsel of Achiy Thophel, so that Yah Veh brings evil on Abi Shalom.

¹⁰ And Ben Hadad sends to him and says, The elohim work so to me and add also, if the dust of Shomeron suffice for palmfuls for all the people at my feet.

¹⁸ And he says, If they come for shalom, apprehend them alive; and if they come for war, apprehend them alive.

²³ And now, I beseech you, pledge to my adoni the sovereign of Ashshur and I give you two thousand horses if you can, for your part, give riders on them.

¹⁴ And Yechizqi Yah takes the scroll from the hand of the angels and calls it out: and Yechizqi Yah ascends into the house of Yah Veh and spreads it at the face of Yah Veh. ¹⁵ And Yechizqi Yah prays at the face of Yah Veh and says, O Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El who settles between the cherubim; you are Elohim - you alone of all the sovereigndoms of the earth; you worked the heavens and earth: ¹⁶ Yah Veh, spread your ear and hear: open, Yah Veh, your eyes and see: and hear the words of Sancherib, who sends him to reproach the living Elohim. ¹⁷ Truly, Yah Veh, the sovereigns of Ashshur desolated the goyim and their lands, ¹⁸ and gave their elohim to the fire: for they are no elohim but the work of human hands - timber and stone: and destroyed them. ¹⁹ Now, O Yah Veh our Elohim, I beseech you, you - save us from his hand; so that all the sovereigndoms of the earth know you are Yah Veh Elohim - you only.

² and against him, Yah Veh sends troops of the Kasdiy and troops of the Aramiy and troops of the Moabiy, and troops of the sons of Ammon; and he sends them against Yah Hudah to destroy it according to the word Yah Veh worded by the hand of his servants the prophets:

³ And again, because I am pleased in the house of my Elohim, I have of my own peculiar treasure - of gold and silver, which I give to the house of my Elohim over and above all I prepared for the holy house:

¹⁴ Yes, because who am I and who are my people, to restrain from volunteering after this sort? For all is from you and from your hand we give you:

¹⁷ and I know, my Elohim, that you proof the heart and have pleasure in straightness. As for me, in the straightness of my heart, I volunteer all these: and now with cheer I see your people who are found here - who volunteer to you. ¹⁸ O Yah Veh Elohim of Abraham, Yischaq and of Yisra El, our fathers, guard this eternally in the imagination of the fabrications of the heart of your people and prepare their heart to you:

¹⁸ And he works seventy thousand burdenbearers and eighty thousand hewers in the mountain and three thousand and six hundred overseers to serve the people who serve.

¹² And behold, with us - Elohim for head and his priests with blasting trumpets to blast against you. O sons of Yisra El, fight not against Yah Veh Elohim of your fathers; for you prosper not. ¹³ And Yarob Am lurks around behind them: so they are at the face of Yah Hudah and they lurk behind them: ¹⁴ and Yah Hudah turns to face back, and behold, the war is at their face and behind: and they cry to Yah Veh and the priests trumpet the trumpets: ¹⁵ and the Yah Hudiy give a shout: and the Yah Hudiy shout, and so be it, Elohim smites Yarob Am and all Yisra El at the face of Abi Yah and Yah Hudah: ¹⁶ and the sons of Yisra El flee the face of Yah Hudah: and Elohim gives them into their hand; ¹⁷ and Abi Yah and his people smite them with a great stroke: so there fall down, pierced of Yisra El, five hundred thousand chosen men.

SONS OF MOAB AND AMMON COME AGAINST YAH SHAPHAT
And so be it, after this, the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon and of the Ammoniy with them, come against Yah Shaphat to war.

¹⁵ and he says, Hearken, all Yah Hudah, and you, settlers of Yeru Shalem, and you, sovereign Yah Shaphat: thus says Yah Veh to you: Neither awe nor terrify at the face of this great multitude; for the war is not to you, but to Elohim: ¹⁶ tomorrow descend against them: behold, they ascend by the ascent of Sis; and you find them at the end of the wadi at the face of the wilderness of Yeru El. ¹⁷ Fight not in this: Set yourselves! Stand! See the salvation of Yah Veh with you, O Yah Hudah and Yeru Shalem: neither awe nor terrify: tomorrow go out at their face and Yah Veh is with you.

⁶ And he goes and fights the Peleshethiy and breaks the wall of Gath and the wall of Yabneh and the wall of Ashdod; and builds cities around Ashdod and among the Peleshethiy: ⁷ and Elohim helps him against the Peleshethiy and against the Arabiy who settle in Gur Baal and the Maoniy: ⁸ and the Ammoniy give offerings to Uzzi Yah: and his name goes to the entering of Misrayim; for he strengthens exceedingly.

³⁶ and Yechizqi Yah and all the people cheer, because Elohim prepares the people. - for the word becomes suddenly.

² and Yechizqi Yah sees Sancherib come; and his face is to war against Yeru Shalem. ³ And he counsels with his governors and his mighty to stop the waters of the fountains outside the city: and they help him: ⁴ and much people gather and stop all the fountains and the wadi that overflows midst the land saying, Why come the sovereigns of Ashshur and find much water? ⁵ And he strengthens himself and builds all the broken wall so that it ascends to the towers; and another outer wall; and strengthens Millo the city of David: and works spears and bucklers in abundance. ⁶ And he gives governors of war over the people and gathers them to himself in the broadway of the portal of the city: and words to their heart, saying, ⁷ Strengthen! Encourage! Neither awe nor terrify at the face of the sovereign of Ashshur or at the face of all the multitude with him: for there are greater with us than with him:

⁷ Strengthen! Encourage!
