THE YAH HUDIYM DERIDED
And so be it, Sanballat hears we build the wall and he inflames and abounds his vexation and he derides the Yah Hudiym: 2 and he says at the face of his brothers and the men of valour of Shomeron, and says, What work these languid Yah Hudiym? Forsake they to themselves? Sacrifice they? Finish they in a day? Enliven they the stones from the heaps of the dust that are burnt? 3 And Tobi Yah the Ammoniy is by him, and he says, Whatever they build, if a fox ascends, even he splits their stone wall. 4 Hear, O our Elohim; for we are disrespected: turn their reproach on their own head and give them for plunder in the land of captivity: 5 and neither cover their perversity nor wipe away their sin from your face: for they vex you in front of the builders. 6 And we build the wall; and all the wall is bound to the half thereof: for the people have a heart to work. 7 And so be it, Sanballat and Tobi Yah and the Arabiy and the Ammoniy and the Ashdodiy hear the walls of Yeru Shalem are ascended and the breaches begin to stop; and they inflame mightily; 8 and all together they conspire to come and fight Yeru Shalem and work error to it: 9 and we pray to our Elohim and stand an underguard against them by day and by night, at their face. 10
THE YAH HUDIYM DISCOURAGED
And Yah Hudah says, The force of the burdenbearers falters and dust abounds so that we are not able to build the wall: 11 and our tribulators say they neither know nor see, until we come among them and slaughter them and cease the work. 12 And so be it, the Yah Hudiym who settle by them come, and say to us ten times, From all places wherever you return to us - . 13 And I stand in the nether parts of the places behind the wall and on the clearing - yes, I stand the people by their families with their swords, their javelins and their bows: 14 and I see and rise and say to the nobles and to the prefects and to the rest of the people, Awe not at their face! Remember Adonay - great and awesome! And fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your women and your houses! 15 And so be it, our enemies hear that we know that Elohim breaks their counsel, we all return to the wall - each man to his work: 16 and so be it, from that day, that half of my lads work in the work and the other half of them hold both the javelins, the bucklers and the bows and the habergeons; and the governors are behind all the house of Yah Hudah. 17 They who build on the wall and they who bear burdens, and they who load, with one hand work in the work and with one hold a spear: 18 for the builders - each man has his sword bound on his loins and thus builds; and he who blasts the shophar is by me. 19 And I say to the nobles and to the rulers and to the rest of the people, The work is abundant and large and we are separated on the wall - man far from brother: 20 in the place you hear the voice of the shophar, gather there to us: our Elohim fights for us. 21 And we work in the work: and half of them hold the javelins from the ascending of the dawn until the stars come. 22 Likewise at the same time I say to the people, Each man with his lad - stay overnight inside Yeru Shalem - to be our underguard in the night and work by day. 23 So neither I, nor my brothers, nor my lads, nor the men of the underguard after me - none of us strips our clothes; each man goes for water with his spear.
