¹⁹ Parch and heat strip the snow waters as Sheol to them who sin:

¹⁵ My brothers cover up as a wadi and as the reservoir of wadies, they pass away; ¹⁶ - darkened by the ice wherein the snow conceals; ¹⁷ by the time they dissipate they are exterminated; when it is hot they are extinguished from their place.

¹³ they wear away - finish off their days in good; and in a blink, descend to sheol.

²³ One dies in the integrity of his bones, wholly serene and secure:

³² Yet he - he is brought to the tomb and watches in the heap: ³³ the clods of the wadi sweeten to him and he draws all humanity after him - innumerable at his face. ³⁴ How then sigh you over me in vain, seeing that treason survives in your responses?

¹⁴ As a flock they set themselves in sheol; death tends them: and the straight subjugate them in the morning; and their form wears out: sheol is their residence.

⁸ as a snail dissolving, they pass away; as the miscarriage of a woman, they see not the sun. ⁹ Ere your caldrons discern the thorns, he whirls them away, alive and fuming.

² As smoke disperses, driven away; as wax melts at the face of the fire; the wicked destruct at the face of Elohim:

³² The wicked is overthrown in his evil; and the just seek refuge in his death.

⁴ For to whomever joins all the living there is confidence: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. ⁵ For the living know that they die; but the dead know naught: they have no more a hire; for their memorial is forgotten. ⁶ Also their love, also their hatred, also their envy already destructed; they have no more an allotment eternal in aught worked under the sun.

²⁰ And Elohim says to him, Thoughtless! This night your soul is required of you: so whose are those that you prepared?

²² And so be it, the beggar dies, and is borne by the angels to the bosom of Abraham: the rich man also dies and is entombed;
