¹⁶ your trembling deceives you - and the arrogance of your heart, O you who tabernacle in the clefts of the rock - who apprehend the height of the hill: though you heighten your nest as high as the eagle, I bring you down from there - an oracle of Yah Veh.

²⁷ Comes the eagle at your mouth and makes her nest on high?

¹⁸ Pomp is at the face of the breech and a lifted spirit is at the face of the stumble.

²¹ Death and life are in the hand of the tongue; and they who love it eat the fruit thereof.

²³ The pomp of humanity abases; and honor upholds the abased in spirit.

¹⁴ O my dove, in the clefts of the rock - in the coverts of the steep steps, have me see your visage; have me hear your voice; for your voice is pleasant and your visage comely.

²¹ to go into the crevices of the rocks and into the clefts of the rocks - at the face of fear of Yah Veh; and for the majesty of his pomp when he rises to terrify the earth.

¹³ For you said in your heart, I ascend into the heavens: I exalt my throne above the stars of El: and I sit upon the mount of the congregation in the flanks of the north: ¹⁴ I ascend above the bamahs of the thick clouds - like Elyon. ¹⁵ Surely you are brought down to sheol - to the flanks of the well.

⁴ for you are a stronghold to the poor; a strength to the needy in his tribulation; a refuge from the flood; a shadow from the parchedness when the wind of the tyrants is as a flood against the wall. ⁵ You subdue the uproar of strangers as the parchedness in a parch; the heat with the shadow of a thick cloud: the branch of the tyrants answer.

²⁵ For thus says Yah Veh, Even the captives of the mighty are taken and the prey of the tyrant is rescued: for I contend with him who contends with you and I save your sons:

²⁸ O you who settle in Moab, leave the cities; and tabernacle in the rock: and be as the dove who nests in the sides of the mouth of the pit. ²⁹ We hear the pomp of Moab - mighty pompous - his haughtiness and his pomp - his pomp and the haughtiness of his heart.

THE WORD OF YAH VEH CONCERNING THE SOVEREIGN OF SOR
And so be the word of Yah Veh to me, saying, ¹² Son of humanity, lift a lamentation on the sovereign of Sor, and say to him, Thus says Adonay Yah Veh: You seal the gauge - full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. ¹³ You, were in Eden the garden of Elohim; every esteemed stone, your covering - the sardius, topaz, and the diamond; the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper; the sapphire, the emerald and the carbuncle and gold: the workmanship of your tambourines and of your pipes was prepared in you in the day that you were created. ¹⁴ You, the overspreading cherub who covers; and I gave you on the holy mountain of Elohim; to walk up and down midst the stones of fire. ¹⁵ You, integrious in your ways from the day of your creating, until wickedness was found in you. ¹⁶ By the abundance of your merchandise they filled your midst with violence, and you sinned. So I cast you as profane from the mountain of Elohim: and I destroy you, O covering cherub, from midst the stones of fire: ¹⁷ your heart is haughty because of your beauty; you ruin your wisdom because of your splendor: I cast you to the earth; I give you at the face of sovereigns so that they see you: ¹⁸ you profaned your holies by the abundance of your perversities - by the wickedness of your merchandise; and I bring a fire from your midst to consume you: and I give you to ashes on the earth in the eyes of all who see you. ¹⁹ All among the people who know you astonish at you: you become terrors, and you are not eternal.

² And if they dig into sheol my hand takes them from there; and if they ascend to the heavens I bring them down from there:

³ the arrogance of your heart deceives you - you who tabernacle in the clefts of the rock; whose settlement is high; he says in his heart, Who descends me to the earth? ⁴ Though you heighten as the eagle and though you set your nest among the stars, I descend you from there - an oracle of Yah Veh.
