¹² When they fast, I hear not their shout; and when they holocaust a holocaust and an offering, they please me not: and I finish them off by the sword and by the famine and by the pestilence.

²⁸ Then they call me, and I answer not; they seek me early, and they find me not;

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abhorrence to Yah Veh; and the prayer of the straight is his pleasure.

²⁷ The sacrifice of the wicked is abhorrence; how much more, when he brings it with intrigue?

⁹ He who turns his ear from hearing the torah, even his prayer is an abhorrence.

¹¹ Why your abundant sacrifices to me? says Yah Veh: I am satiated by the holocausts of rams and the fat of fatlings; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks or of lambs or of he goats. ¹² When you come to be seen at my face, who beseeches this at your hand - to trample my courts? ¹³ Add no more vain offerings; incense is an abhorrence to me; the new moons and shabbaths, the calling of convocations, I cannot; it is mischief: and the private assembly. ¹⁴ Your new moons and your seasons my soul hates: they are a burden to me; I weary to bear them. ¹⁵ And in spreading your palms, I conceal my eyes from you: yes, your abounding prayers I hear not: your hands are filled with blood.

³ Why fast we and you see not? Why humble we our soul and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you find delight, and exact all your contortions.

²⁰ Why to me, this incense from Sheba? And the good stalk from a far land? neither are your holocausts pleasing nor your sacrifices pleasing to me.

²¹ Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth, Elohim of Yisra El; Scrape up your holocausts to your sacrifices and eat flesh: ²² for I neither worded to your fathers, nor misvahed them in the day I brought them from the land of Misrayim concerning holocausts or sacrifices:

¹⁶ and I scatter them among the goyim whom neither they nor their fathers knew: and I send a sword after them until I finish them off.

¹¹ So thus says Yah Veh, Behold, I bring evil on them, which they are not able to escape; and though they cry to me I hearken not to them:

² And so be it, if they say to you, Where go we? you say to them, Thus says Yah Veh: Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity: ³ and upon them I visit four families - an oracle of Yah Veh the sword to slaughter and the dogs to drag and the flyers of the heavens and the animals of the earth to devour and ruin:

⁴ they die deaths of sicknesses; - neither chopped after nor entombed; - as dung on the face of the soil: - finished off by the sword and by famine; and their carcases are meat for the flyers of the heavens and for the animals of the earth.

⁷ And afterward - an oracle of Yah Veh I give Sidqi Yah sovereign of Yah Hudah and his servants and the people and such as survive in this city from the pestilence and from the sword and from the famine into the hand of Nebukadnets Tsar sovereign of Babel - and into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of them who seek their soul: and he smites them with the mouth of the sword; he neither spares them - neither spares nor mercies. ⁸ And to this people you say, Thus says Yah Veh; Behold, I give at your face the way of life and the way of death. ⁹ He who settles in this city dies by the sword and by the famine and by the pestilence: and he who goes out and falls to the Kesediym who besiege you, he lives: and his soul becomes to him for a spoil.

¹⁰ and I send the sword the famine and the pestilence among them - until they are consumed from off the soil - I give to them and to their fathers.

¹⁷ thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth: Behold, I send on them the sword the famine and the pestilence; and give them as putrified figs, not eaten for their evil: ¹⁸ and I pursue after them with the sword with the famine and with the pestilence; and give them for an agitation to all the sovereigndoms of the earth - for an oath and a desolation and a hissing and a reproach among all the goyim where I drove them:

¹² A third of you die with the pestilence - finished off with famine in your midst; and a third fall by the sword all around you; and a third I winnow into all the winds: and I draw out a sword after them. ¹³ Thus I finish off my wrath and I rest my fury on them, and sigh: and they know that I Yah Veh word in my zeal when I finish off my fury in them. ¹⁴ I give you for a parched area; and for a reproach among the goyim around you in the eyes of all who pass by: ¹⁵ and so be it, a reproach and a revilement, a discipline and a desolation to the goyim around you, when I work judgments in you in wrath and in fury and in reproofs of fury. I Yah Veh have worded. ¹⁶ I send on them the evil arrows of famine being for their ruin - which I send to ruin you: and I increase the famine on you and break your rod of bread: ¹⁷ thus I send famine on you; and evil live beings bereave you; and pestilence and blood passes through you; and I bring the sword on you. I Yah Veh have worded.

¹⁸ So I also work in fury: neither my eye spares, nor I compassion: and though they call out in my ears with a great voice, yet I hear them not.

²¹ For thus says Adonay Yah Veh; How much more when I send my four evil judgments on Yeru Shalem - the sword and the famine and the evil live being and the pestilence - to cut it off from humanity and animal?

⁴ Then they cry to Yah Veh, and he answers them not: he even hides his face from them at that time, as they vilify in their exploits.
