YAH VEH CALLS ABRAM
And Yah Veh says to Abram, Go from your land and from your kindred and from the house of your father to a land I show you: 2 and I work you to become a great goyim and I bless you and greaten your name; that you become a blessing: 3 and I bless them who bless you and curse him who abases you: and in you all families of the soil become blessed. 4 So Abram goes, as Yah Veh worded to him; and Lot goes with him: and Abram is a son of seventy-five years when he departs from Haran: 5 and Abram takes Saray his woman and Lot the son of his brother and all the acquisitions they acquired and the souls they worked in Haran; and they go - go to the land of Kenaan; and to the land of Kenaan they come: 6 and Abram passes through the land to the place of Sichem - to the mighty oak of Moreh. - and the Kenaaniy is in the land. 7 And Yah Veh is seen by Abram, and says, To your seed I give this land! - and there he builds a sacrifice altar to Yah Veh, who is seen by him. 8 And from there he removes to a mountain east of Beth El and spreads his tent, having Beth El seaward and Ay eastward: and there he builds a sacrifice altar to Yah Veh and calls on the name of Yah Veh. 9 And in pulling stakes, Abram pulls stakes toward the south: 10 and there is a famine in the land: and Abram descends into Misrayim to sojourn there; for the famine is heavy in the land. 11 And so be it, when he approaches to enter into Misrayim, he says to Saray his woman, Behold I beseech, I know that you are a fair woman in visage: 12 so be it, when the Misrayim see you, that they say, This is his woman: and they slaughter me, and they preserve you alive. 13 Say, I beseech you, you are my sister: that they well-please me for your sake; and my soul lives because of you. 14 And so be it, when Abram comes into Misrayim, the Misrayim see the woman - mighty fair: 15 the governors of Paroh see her and halal her to Paroh: and they take the woman into the house of Paroh: 16 and he well-pleases Abram for her sake: and he has flocks and oxen and he burros and servants and maids and she burros and camels. 17 And Yah Veh plagues Paroh and his house with great plagues because of the word of Saray the woman of Abram: 18 and Paroh calls Abram and says, What work you unto me? Why tell you me not she is your woman? 19 Why say you, She is my sister - and I took her as my woman? Now behold, your woman; take her and go your way. 20 And Paroh misvahed his men concerning him: and they send him away with his woman and all he has.
