SLAUGHTER OF IDOLATERS
And he calls out in my ears with a great voice, saying, Have them in charge over the city to approach, even every man with his instrument of ruin in his hand. 2 And behold, six men come from the way of the most high portal facing northward; and every man has a disintegrator instrument in his hand; and one man among them is enrobed with linen with an inkwell of a scribe on his loins: and they enter and stand beside the copper sacrifice altar: 3 and the honor of Elohim of Yisra El ascends from the cherub on whom it is to the threshold of the house. And he calls to the man enrobed with linen with the inkwell of the scribe on his loins; 4 and Yah Veh says to him, Pass through midst the city - through midst Yeru Shalem; and tattoo a tattoo on the foreheads of the men who sigh and shriek for all the abhorrences worked in our midst. 5 And to the others he says in my ears, Pass after him through the city, and smite: neither your eye spare nor compassion: 6 slaughter to ruin aged and youth and virgin and toddler and women: but come not near any man on whom is the tattoo; and begin at my holies. - and they begin at the aged men at the face of the house. 7 And he says to them, Foul the house, and fill the courts with the pierced: Go! - and they go and smite in the city. 8 And so be it, as they smite them, and I - I survive, I fall on my face, and cry, and say, Aha! Adonay Yah Veh! Ruin you all the survivors of Yisra El in your pouring from your fury on Yeru Shalem? 9 And he says to me, The perversity of the house of Yisra El and Yah Hudah is mighty mighty great, and the land fills with blood and the city fills with distortion: for they say, Yah Veh forsakes the earth, and Yah Veh sees not. 10 And I also, neither my eye spares, nor I compassion: I give their way on their head. 11 And behold, the man enrobed with linen with the inkwell on his loins returns word, saying, I worked as you misvahed me.
