³ Why fast we and you see not? Why humble we our soul and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you find delight, and exact all your contortions. ⁴ Behold, you fast for strife and strive and to smite with the fist of wickedness: you fast not as this day, so that your voice is heard on high.

⁴ for he is your minister of Elohim for good. But whenever you do evil, awe; for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of Elohim - the avenger to wrath upon whoever transacts evil.
