¹⁰ He finds him in a wilderness land and in the waste howling desolation; he turns him around; he has him discern; he guards him as the pupil of his eye.

³⁶ From the heavens he had you hear his voice, to discipline you: and on earth he had you see his great fire; and had you hear his words from midst the fire.

¹⁵ who carried you through that great and awesome wilderness of seraph serpents and scorpions and thirst - where there was no water: who brought water from the rock of flint; ¹⁶ who fed you in the wilderness with manna which your fathers knew not - to humble you and to test you - to well-please you at your latter end;

¹⁹ yet you in your abundant mercies forsook them not in the wilderness: neither turned the pillar of the cloud from them by day - to lead them in the way; nor the pillar of fire by night - to show them light and the way to go. ²⁰ You gave also your good Spirit to have them comprehend and withheld not your manna from their mouth and gave them water for their thirst: ²¹ yes, forty years you sustained them in the wilderness so that they neither lacked; nor wore out their clothes nor swelled their feet.

⁸ Guard me as the pupil - the daughter of the eye, hide me under the shadow of your wings

⁷ You are my covert; you guard me from tribulation: you surround me with shouts of escape. Selah. ⁸ I have you discern and teach you the way to go; I counsel you with my eye. ⁹ Be not as the horse or as the mule who discern not; whose mouth is muzzled with bit and bridle lest they come near to you. ¹⁰ Many are the sorrows of the wicked; as for him who confides in Yah Veh, mercy surrounds him.

⁴ They strayed in the wilderness in a way of desolation; they found no city of settlement; ⁵ famished; yes, thirsty; their soul languished therein.

¹⁹ he tells his word to Yaaqov - his words and his judgments to Yisra El. ²⁰ He worked not thus with any goyim; and as to judgments, they know them not. Halalu Yah!

Who is this ascending from the wilderness, leaning on her beloved? THE WOMAN I wakened you under the apple tree; there your mother pledged you - there she who birthed you pledged you.

⁶ And said not, Where is Yah Veh who ascended us from the land of Misrayim? Who carried us through the wilderness - a land of plains and of chasms - a land of parch and of the shadow of death - a land where no man passed through and where no human settled?

⁵ I - I knew you in the wilderness, in the land of great droughts.

⁸ For thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth: After the honor he sends me to the goyim who spoiled you: for he who touches you touches the pupil of his eye.

¹⁸ and know his will and approve those that thoroughly surpass, being catechized from the torah;

² Much every manner: first indeed, because the oracles of Elohim were entrusted to them.
