¹⁹ and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars and all the host of the heavens and be driven to prostrate to them and serve them - which Yah Veh your Elohim allotted to all people under the whole of the heavens.

²⁸ And the sovereign takes counsel and works two calves of gold, and says to them, Too much for you to ascend to Yeru Shalem: behold your Elohim, O Yisra El, who ascended you from the land of Misrayim.

¹⁵ For Yah Veh smites Yisra El as a stalk wags in the water; and uproots Yisra El from this good soil he gave to their fathers; and scatters them beyond the river because they work their asherim - vexing Yah Veh:

²³ and they - they also built bamahs and monoliths and asherim on every high hill and under every green tree:

¹³ and also turns aside his mother Maachah from being lady, because she worked an idol of awe in an asherah; and Asa cuts off her idol of awe and burns it by the wadi Qidron:

³¹ And so be it, as trifling for him to walk in the sins of Yarob Am the son of Nebat, he takes to woman Iy Zebel the daughter of Eth Baal sovereign of the Sidoniy; and goes and serves Baal and prostrates to him:

³³ and Ach Ab works an asherah; and Ach Ab adds to work to vex Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El above all the sovereigns of Yisra El at their face.

See that no servants of Yah Veh are here with you except the servants of Baal by themselves. ²⁴ And they go in to work sacrifices and holocausts, and Yah Hu sets eighty men outside and says, The man who allows any of the men I bring to your hands to escape - his soul for his soul. ²⁵ And so be it, as he finishes working the holocaust, Yah Hu says to the runners and to the tertiaries, Go! Smite them! Allow no man to go! - and they smite them with the mouth of the sword; and the runners and the tertiaries cast them out, and go to the city of the house of Baal: ²⁶ and they bring the monoliths from the house of Baal and burn them; ²⁷ and they pull down the monolith of Baal and pull down the house of Baal and set it a sewer to this day; ²⁸ thus Yah Hu desolated Baal from Yisra El.

¹⁸ And all the people of the land go to the house of Baal and pull it down - they thoroughly break his sacrifice altars and his images; and slaughter Mattan the priest of Baal at the face of the sacrifice altars: and the priest sets overseers over the house of Yah Veh:

¹⁰ and they station monoliths and asherim in every high hill and under every green tree:

³ And he returns and builds the bamahs Yechizqi Yah his father destroyed; and he raises sacrifice altars for Baal and works an asherah as Ach Ab sovereign of Yisra El worked; and prostrates to all the host of the heavens and serves them.

¹⁸ a fire burnt in their witness - the flame burnt the wicked: ¹⁹ they worked a calf in Horeb and prostrated to the molten: ²⁰ they changed their honor into the pattern of an ox that eats herbage:

⁹ They who form a sculptile all of them are a waste; and their desires benefit not: and they are their own witnesses; they neither see, nor know to shame. ¹⁰ Who ever formed an el or poured a sculptile that is not beneficial?

² and they spread them to the sun and the moon and all the host of the heavens - whom they loved and whom they served and after whom they walked and whom they sought and to whom they prostrated: they are neither gathered nor entombed; they are for dung on the face of the soil:
