² God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Know you not what the scripture saith of Elias, how he calleth on God against Israel?

¹⁵ And he said to them: Why would you do so? know you not that there is no one like me in the science of divining.

¹ And the people seeing that Moses delayed to come down from the mount, gathering together against Aaron, said: Arise, make us gods, that may go before us: For as to this Moses, the man that brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what has befallen him.

¹⁵ Moses therefore being very angry, said to the Lord: Respect not their sacrifices: thou knowest that I have not taken of them so much as a young ass at any time, nor have injured any of them.

³⁰ And thou didst forbear with them for many years, and didst testify against them by thy spirit by the hand of thy prophets: and they heard not, and thou didst deliver them into the hand of the people of the lands.

¹⁴ For the Lord will not cast off his people: neither will he forsake his own inheritance.

¹⁹ Give heed to me, O Lord, and hear the voice of my adversaries. ²⁰ Shall evil be rendered for good, because they have digged a pit for my soul? Remember that I have stood in thy sight, to speak good for them, and to turn away thy indignation from them. ²¹ Therefore deliver up their children to famine, and bring them into the hands of the sword: let their wives be bereaved of children and widows: and let their husbands be slain by death: let their young men be stabbed with the sword in battle. ²² Let a cry be heard out of their houses: for thou shalt bring the robber upon them suddenly: because they have digged a pit to take me, and have hid snares for my feet. ²³ But thou, O Lord, knowest all their counsel against me unto death: not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from thy sight: let them be overthrown before thy eyes, in the time of thy wrath do thou destroy them.

¹ And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost, returned from the Jordan and was led the by the spirit into the desert,

¹ When Jesus therefore understood the Pharisees had heard that Jesus maketh more disciples and baptizeth more than John ² (Though Jesus himself did not baptize, but his disciples), ³ He left Judea and went again into Galilee.

¹¹ The woman saith to him: Sir, thou hast nothing wherein to draw, and the well is deep. From whence then hast thou living water?

¹⁷ And now, brethren, I know that you did it through ignorance: as did also your rulers.

⁴⁰ Saying to Aaron: Make us gods to go before us. For as for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.

⁴⁸ And the Gentiles hearing it were glad and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to life everlasting believed.

¹⁸ To the Lord was his own work known from the beginning of the world.

²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be made conformable to the image of his Son: that he might be the Firstborn amongst many brethren. ³⁰ And whom he predestinated, them he also called. And whom he called, them he also justified. And whom he justified, them he also glorified.

⁶ Not as though the word of God hath miscarried. For all are not Israelites that are of Israel.

²³ That he might shew the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy which he hath prepared unto glory?

² Know you not that the saints shall judge this world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

²² And if to live in the flesh: this is to me the fruit of labour. And what I shall choose I know not.

¹ God, who, at sundry times and in divers manners, spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, last of all, ² According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, unto the sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.
