³ Who shall ascend into the mountain of the Lord: or who shall stand in his holy place?

³ And Moses said to Aaron: This is what the Lord hath spoken. I will be sanctified in them that approach to me: and I will be glorified in the sight of all the people. And when Aaron heard this, he held his peace.

¹² And it was told king David, that the Lord had blessed Obededom, and all that he had, because of the ark of God. So David went, and brought away the ark of God out of the house of Obededom into the city of David with joy. And there were with David seven choirs, and calves for victims. ¹³ And when they that carried the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed and ox and a ram: ¹⁴ And David danced with all his might before the Lord: and David was girded with a linen ephod. ¹⁵ And David and all the louse of Israel brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord with joyful shouting, and with sound of trumpet. ¹⁶ And when the ark of the Lord was come into the city of David, Michol the daughter of Saul, looking out through a window, saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord: and she despised him in her heart. ¹⁷ And they brought the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle, which David had pitched for it: and David offered holocausts, and peace offerings before the Lord.

¹ He made also houses for himself in the city of David: and built a place for the ark of God, and pitched a tabernacle for it.

²⁵ So David and all the ancients of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obededom with joy. ²⁶ And when God had helped the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they offered in sacrifice seven oxen, and seven rams. ²⁷ And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that carried the ark, and the singing men, and Chonenias the ruler of the prophecy among the singers: and David also had on him an ephod of linen. ²⁸ And all Israel brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord with joyful shouting, and sounding with the sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and cymbals, and psalteries, and harps.

⁶ But I am appointed king by him over Sion, his holy mountain, preaching his commandment.

⁶⁸ But he chose the tribe of Juda, mount Sion which he loved. ⁶⁹ And he built his sanctuary as of unicorns, in the land which he founded for ever.

¹³ For the Lord hath chosen Sion: he hath chosen it for his dwelling. ¹⁴ This is my rest for ever and ever: here will I dwell, for I have chosen it.

¹ Behold I send my angel, and he shall prepare the way before my face. And presently the Lord, whom you seek, and the angel of the testament, whom you desire, shall come to his temple. Behold, he cometh, saith the Lord of hosts.

³⁶ Simon Peter saith to him: Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered: Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now: but thou shalt follow hereafter.

¹⁷ Jesus saith to her: Do not touch me: for I am not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and say to them: I ascend to my Father and to your Father, to my God and to your God.

⁸ Wherefore he saith: Ascending on high, he led captivity captive: he gave gifts to men. ⁹ Now that he ascended, what is it, but because he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended is the same also that ascended above all the heavens: that he might fill all things.

²² But you are come to mount Sion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to the company of many thousands of angels, ²³ And to the church of the firstborn who are written in the heavens, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the just made perfect, ²⁴ And to Jesus the mediator of the new testament, and to the sprinkling of blood which speaketh better than that of Abel.

²⁸ Therefore, receiving an immoveable kingdom, we have grace: whereby let us serve, pleasing God, with fear and reverence.
