⁶ The Lord is my helper: I will not fear what man can do unto me.

⁴ For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they have comforted me.

¹ The psalm of David before he was anointed. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid? ² Whilst the wicked draw near against me, to eat my flesh. My enemies that trouble me, have themselves been weakened, and have fallen. ³ If armies in camp should stand together against me, my heart shall not fear. If a battle should rise up against me, in this will I be confident.

¹ Unto the end, for the sons of Core, for the hidden. ^(46:2) Our God is our refuge and strength: a helper in troubles, which have found us exceedingly.

⁸ Rejoice not, thou my enemy, over me, because I am fallen: I shall arise, when I sit in darkness, the Lord is my light. ⁹ I will bear the wrath of the Lord, because I have sinned against him: until he judge my cause, and execute judgement for me: he will bring me forth into the light, I shall behold his justice. ¹⁰ And my enemy shall behold, and she shall be covered with shame, who saith to me: Where is the Lord thy God? my eyes shall look down upon her: now shall she be trodden under foot as the mire of the streets.

³¹ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?

⁶ So that we may confidently say: The Lord is my helper: I will not fear what man shall do to me.
