¹⁷ Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

³ And he shall be like a tree which is planted near the running waters, which shall bring forth its fruit, in due season. And his leaf shall not fall off: and all whatsoever he shall do shall prosper.

³ And now, O ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and ye men of Juda, judge between me and my vineyard. ⁴ What is there that I ought to do more to my vineyard, that I have not done to it? was it that I looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it hath brought forth wild grapes? ⁵ And now I will shew you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be wasted: I will break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down.

³ To appoint to the mourners of Sion, and to give them a crown for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, a garment of praise for the spirit of grief: and they shall be called in it the mighty ones of justice, the planting of the Lord to glorify him.

¹⁹ And I was as a meek lamb, that is carried to be a victim: and I knew not that they had devised counsels against me, saying: Let us put wood on his bread, and cut him off from the land of the living, and let his name be remembered no more.

⁸ And he shall be as a tree that is planted by the waters, that spreadeth out its roots towards moisture: and it shall not fear when the heat cometh. And the leaf thereof shall be green, and in the time of drought it shall not be solicitous, neither shall it cease at any time to bring forth fruit.

³³ Either make the tree good and its fruit good: or make the tree evil, and its fruit evil. For by the fruit the tree is known. ³⁴ O generation of vipers, how can you speak good things, whereas you are evil? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. ³⁵ A good man out of a good treasure bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of an evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

⁶ He spoke also this parable: A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard: and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. ⁷ And he said to the dresser of the vineyard: Behold, for these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree and I find none. Cut it down therefore. Why cumbereth it the ground? ⁸ But he answering, said to him: Lord, let it alone this year also, until I dig about it and dung it. ⁹ And if happily it bear fruit: but if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity, ²³ Mildness, faith, modesty, continency, chastity. Against such there is no law. ²⁴ And they that are Christ's have crucified their flesh, with the vices and concupiscences.

⁹ For the fruit of the light is in all goodness and justice and truth:

¹¹ Filled with the fruit of justice, through Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

¹⁰ That you may walk worthy of God, in all things pleasing; being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God:

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above, first indeed is chaste, then peaceable, modest, easy to be persuaded, consenting to the good, full of mercy and good fruits, without judging, without dissimulation. ¹⁸ And the fruit of justice is sown in peace, to them that make peace.

¹² These are spots in their banquets, feasting together without fear, feeding themselves: clouds without water, which are carried about by winds: trees of the autumn, unfruitful, twice dead, plucked up by the roots:
