⁶⁷ Then did they spit in his face and buffeted him. And others struck his face with the palms of their hands,

¹⁴ And the Lord answered him: If her father had spitten upon her face, ought she not to have been ashamed for seven days at least? Let her be separated seven days without the camp, and afterwards she shall be called again.

⁹ The woman shall come to him before the ancients, and shall take off his shoe from his foot, and spit in his face, and say: So shall it be done to the man that will not build up his brother's house:

¹³ We are blasphemed: and we entreat. We are made as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all, even until now.

²⁰ For you suffer if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take from you, if a man be lifted up, if a man strike you on the face. ²¹ I seek according to dishonour, as if we had been weak in this part. Wherein if any man dare (I speak foolishly), I dare also.
