⁷ For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And there shall be pestilences and famines and earthquakes in places.

⁶ For nation shall fight against nation, and city against city, for the Lord will trouble them with all distress.

¹⁹ By the wrath of the Lord of hosts the land is troubled, and the people shall be as fuel for the fire: no man shall spare his brother. ²⁰ And he shall turn to the right hand, and shall be hungry: and shall eat on the left hand, and shall not be filled: every one shall eat the flesh of his own arm: Manasses Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasses, and they together shall be against Juda. ²¹ After all these things his indignation is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

² And I will set the Egyptians to fight against the Egyptians: and they shall fight brother against brother, and friend against friend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.

¹⁹ With breaking shall the earth be broken, with crushing shall the earth be crushed, with trembling shall the earth be moved. ²⁰ With shaking shall the earth be shaken as a drunken man, and shall be removed as the tent of one night: and the iniquity thereof shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again. ²¹ And it shall come to pass, that in that day the Lord shall visit upon the host of heaven on high, and upon the kings of the earth, on the earth. ²² And they shall be gathered together as in the gathering of one bundle into the pit, and they shall be shut up there in prison: and after many days they shall be visited. ²³ And the moon shall blush, and the sun shall be ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Sion, and in Jerusalem, and shall be glorified in the sight of his ancients.

²¹ For thus saith the Lord: Although I shall send in upon Jerusalem my four grievous judgments, the sword, and the famine, and the mischievous beasts, and the pestilence, to destroy out of it man and beast,

²⁷ I will shew it to be iniquity, iniquity, iniquity: but this was not done till he came to whom judgment belongeth, and I will give it him.

³⁰ And I will shew wonders in heaven; and in earth, blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke. ³¹ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood: before the great and dreadful day of the Lord doth come.

^{21 (2:22)} Speak to Zorobabel the governor of Juda, saying: I will move both heaven and earth. ^{22 (2:23)} And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and will destroy the strength of the kingdom of the Gentiles: and I will overthrow the chariot, and him that rideth therin: and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.

² And I will gather all nations to Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken, and the houses shall be rifled, and the women shall be defiled: and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the rest of the people shall not be taken away out of the city. ³ Then the Lord shall go forth, and shall fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. ⁴ And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is over against Jerusalem towards the east: and the mount of Olives shall be divided in the midst thereof to the east, and to the west with a very great opening, and half of the mountain shall be separated to the north, and half thereof to the south.

¹³ In that day there shall be a great tumult from the Lord among them: and a man shall take the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall be clasped upon his neighbour's hand.

¹¹ And there shall be great earthquakes in divers places and pestilences and famines and terrors from heaven: and there shall be great signs.

²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, by reason of the confusion of the roaring of the sea, and of the waves: ²⁶ Men withering away for fear and expectation of what shall come upon the whole world. For the powers of heaven shall be moved.

¹⁹ And I will shew wonders in the heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood and fire, and vapour of smoke.

²⁸ And one of them named Agabus, rising up, signified by the Spirit that there should be a great famine over the whole world, which came to pass under Claudius.

²⁷ And in that he saith: Yet once more, he signifieth the translation of the moveable things as made, that those things may remain which are immoveable.

⁸ And behold a pale horse: and he that sat upon him, his name was Death. And hell followed him. And power was given to him over the four parts of the earth, to kill with sword, with famine and with death and with the beasts of the earth.

¹² And I saw, when he had opened the sixth seal: and behold there was a great earthquake. And the sun became black as sackcloth of hair: and the whole moon became as blood.
