⁴⁰ Then two shall be in the field. One shall be taken and one shall be left.

³⁴ I say to you: In that night there shall be two men in one bed. The one shall be taken and the other shall be left. ³⁵ Two women shall be grinding together. But this man hath done no evil. ⁴² And he said to Jesus: Lord, remember me when thou shalt come into thy kingdom. ⁴³ And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee: This day thou shalt be with me in paradise.

⁷ For who distinguisheth thee? Or what hast thou that thou hast not received, and if thou hast received, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

⁵ And spared not the original world, but preserved Noe, the eighth person, the preacher of justice, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.

⁷ And delivered just Lot, oppressed by the injustice and lewd conversation of the wicked: ⁸ For in sight and hearing he was just, dwelling among them who from day to day vexed the just soul with unjust works. ⁹ The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly from temptation, but to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be tormented:
