⁵ For Moses wrote that the justice which is of the law: The man that shall do it shall live by it.

¹¹ But that in the law no man is justified with God, it is manifest: because the just man liveth by faith. ¹² But the law is not of faith: but he that doth those things shall live in them. ¹³ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us (for it is written: Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree).

¹⁷ Every best gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change nor shadow of alteration.

⁸ He that loveth not knoweth not God: for God is charity. ⁹ By this hath the charity of God appeared towards us, because God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we may live by him. ¹⁰ In this is charity: not as though we had loved God, but because he hath first loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins.

¹⁶ And we have known and have believed the charity which God hath to us. God is charity: and he that abideth in charity abideth in God, and God in him.
