²⁴ And Jesus answering, saith to them: Do ye not therefore err, because you know not the scriptures nor the power of God?

¹⁴ Is there any thing hard to God? According to appointment I will return to thee at this same time, life accompanying, and Sara shall have a son.

²⁵ For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and in the last day I shall rise out of the earth. ²⁶ And I shall be clothed again with my skin, and in my flesh I shall see my God. ²⁷ Whom I myself shall see, and my eyes shall behold, and not another: this my hope is laid up in my bosom.

²⁰ To the law rather, and to the testimony. And if they speak not according to this word, they shall not have the morning light.

⁸ He shall cast death down headlong for ever: and the Lord God shall wipe away tears from every face, and the reproach of his people he shall take away from off the whole earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

¹⁹ Thy dead men shall live, my slain shall rise again: awake, and give praise, ye that dwell in the dust: for thy dew is the dew of the light: and the land of the giants thou shalt pull down into ruin.

⁷ The kite in the air hath known her time: the turtle, and the swallow, and the stork have observed the time of their coming: but my people have not known the judgment of the Lord. ⁸ How do you say: We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Indeed the lying pens of the scribes hath wrought falsehood. ⁹ The wise men are confounded, they are dismayed, and taken: for they have cast away the word of the Lord, and there is no wisdom in them.

¹⁷ Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God, behold thou hast made heaven and earth by thy great power, and thy stretched out arm: no word shall be hard to thee:

¹ The hand of the Lord was upon me, and brought me forth in the spirit of the Lord: and set me down in the midst of a plain that was full of bones. ² And he led me about through them on every side: now they were very many upon the face of the plain, and they were exceeding dry. ³ And he said to me: Son of man, dost thou think these bones shall live and I answered: O Lord God, thou knowest. ⁴ And he said to me: Prophesy concerning these bones; and say to them: Ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. ⁵ Thus saith the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will send spirit into you, and you shall live. ⁶ And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to grow over you, and will cover you with skin: and I will give you spirit and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord. ⁷ And I prophesied as he had commanded me: and as I prophesied there was a noise, and behold a commotion: and the bones came together, each one, its joint. ⁸ And I saw, and behold the sinews, and the flesh came up upon them: and the skin was stretched out over them, but there was no spirit in them. ⁹ And he said to me: Prophesy to the spirit, prophesy, O son of man, and say to the spirit: Thus saith the Lord God: Come, spirit, from the four winds, and blow upon these slain, and let them live again. ¹⁰ And I prophesied as he had commanded me: and the spirit came into them, and they lived: and they stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. ¹¹ And he said to me: Son of man: All these bones are the house of Israel: they say: Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost, and we are cut off. ¹² Therefore prophesy, and say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I will open your graves, and will bring you out of your sepulchres, O my people: and will bring you into the land of Israel. ¹³ And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have opened your sepulchres, and shall have brought you out of your graves, O my people: ¹⁴ And shall have put my spirit in you, and you shall live, and I shall make you rest upon your own land: and you shall know that I the Lord have spoken, and done it, saith the Lord God:

² And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth, shall awake: some unto life everlasting, and others unto reproach, to see it always.

² For he hath taken us, and he will heal us: he will strike, and he will cure us.

⁶ For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice: and the knowledge of God more than holocausts.

¹² I shall write to him my manifold laws, which have been accounted as foreign.

¹⁴ I will deliver them out of the hand of death. I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy death; O hell, I will be thy bite: comfort is hidden from my eyes.

²⁹ And Jesus answering, said to them: You err, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

²⁷ And Jesus looking on them, saith with men it is impossible; but not with God. For all things are possible with God.

³⁷ Because no word shall be impossible with God.

³⁹ Search the scriptures: for you think in them to have life everlasting. And the same are they that give testimony of me.

⁹ For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

¹¹ Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, who received the word with all eagerness, daily searching the scriptures, whether these things were so.

⁴ For what things soever were written were written for our learning: that, through patience and the comfort of the scriptures, we might have hope.

¹⁹ And what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us, who believe according to the operation of the might of his power,

²¹ Who will reform the body of our lowness, made like to the body of his glory, according to the operation whereby also he is able to subdue all things unto himself.

¹⁵ And because from thy infancy thou hast known the holy scriptures which can instruct thee to salvation by the faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice: ¹⁷ That the man of God may be perfect, furnished to every good work.
