⁴³ And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee: This day thou shalt be with me in paradise.

²⁷ He shall look upon men, and shall say: I have sinned, and indeed I have offended, and I have not received what I have deserved. ²⁸ He hath delivered his soul from going into destruction, that it may live and see the light. ²⁹ Behold, all these things God worketh three times within every one. ³⁰ That he may withdraw their souls from corruption, and enlighten them with the light of the living.

⁵ I have acknowledged my sin to thee, and my injustice I have not concealed. I said I will confess against my self my injustice to the Lord: and thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my sin.

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

¹⁸ And then come, and accuse me, saith the Lord: if your sins be as scarlet, they shall be made as white as snow: and if they be red as crimson, they shall be white as wool. ¹⁹ If you be willing, and will hearken to me, you shall eat the good things of the land.

¹¹ Because his soul hath laboured, he shall see and be filled: by his knowledge shall this my just servant justify many, and he shall bear their iniquities.

⁶ Seek ye the Lord, while he may be found: call upon him, while he is near. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unjust man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God: for he is bountiful to forgive. ⁸ For my thoughts are not your thoughts: nor your ways my ways, saith the Lord. ⁹ For as the heavens are exalted above the earth, so are my ways exalted above your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts.

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will hear; as they are yet speaking, I will hear.

¹⁸ Who is a God like to thee, who takest away iniquity, and passest by the sin of the remnant of thy inheritance? he will send his fury in no more, because he delighteth in mercy.

¹⁵ Or, is it not lawful for me to do what I will? Is thy eye evil, because I am good? ¹⁶ So shall the last be first and the first last. For many are called but few chosen.

⁴ What man of you that hath an hundred sheep, and if he shall lose one of them, doth he not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after that which was lost, until he find it? ⁵ And when he hath found it, lay it upon his shoulders, rejoicing?

²⁰ And rising up, he came to his father. And when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion and running to him fell upon his neck and kissed him. ²¹ And the son said to him: Father: I have sinned against heaven and before thee I am not now worthy to be called thy son. ²² And the father said to his servants: Bring forth quickly the first robe and put it on him: and put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet. ²³ And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it: and let us eat and make merry: ²⁴ Because this my son was dead and is come to life again, was lost and is found. And they began to be merry.

¹⁰ For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

³ And if I shall go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself: that where I am, you also may be.

²⁴ Father, I will that where I am, they also whom thou hast given me may be with me: that they may see my glory which thou hast given me, because thou hast loved me before the creation of the world.

²⁰ Now the law entered in that sin might abound. And where sin abounded, grace did more abound. ²¹ That as sin hath reigned to death: so also grace might reign by justice unto life everlasting, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁸ But we are confident and have a good will to be absent rather from the body and to be present with the Lord.

³ And I know such a man (whether in the body, or out of the body, I know not: God knoweth): ⁴ That he was caught up into paradise and heard secret words which it is not granted to man to utter.

²³ But I am straitened between two: having a desire to be dissolved and to be with Christ, a thing by far the better.

¹⁵ A faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the chief. ¹⁶ But for this cause have I obtained mercy: that in me first Christ Jesus might shew forth all patience, for the information of them that shall believe in him unto life everlasting.

²⁵ Whereby he is able also to save for ever them that come to God by him; always living to make intercession for us.

⁷ He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches: To him that overcometh I will give to eat of the tree of life which is in the paradise of my God.
