³² But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and thou, being once converted, confirm thy brethren.

³ Because I was silent my bones grew old; whilst I cried out all the day long. ⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: I am turned in my anguish, whilst the thorn is fastened. ⁵ I have acknowledged my sin to thee, and my injustice I have not concealed. I said I will confess against my self my injustice to the Lord: and thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my sin. ⁶ For this shall every one that is holy pray to thee in a seasonable time. And yet in a flood of many waters, they shall not come nigh unto him.

² And the Lord said to Satan: The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan: and the Lord that chose Jerusalem rebuke thee: Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? ³ And Jesus was clothed with filthy garments: and he stood before the face of the angel. ⁴ Who answered, and said to them that stood before him, saying: Take away the filthy garments from him. And he said to him: Behold I have taken away thy iniquity, and have clothed thee with change of garments.

³ And said: amen I say to you, unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the word of Jesus which he had said: Before the cock crow, thou wilt deny me thrice. And going forth, he wept bitterly.

⁷² And immediately the cock crew again. And Peter remembered the word that Jesus had said unto him: Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt thrice deny me. And he began to weep,

⁷ But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee. There you shall see him, as he told you.

¹³ Now they upon the rock are they who when they hear receive the word with joy: and these have no roots: for they believe for a while and in time of temptation they fall away.

⁶¹ And the Lord turning looked on Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, as he had said: Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny thrice. ⁶² And Peter going out, wept bitterly.

¹⁹ Yet a little while and the world seeth me no more. But you see me: because I live, and you shall live.

⁹ I pray for them. I pray not for the world, but for them whom thou hast given me: because they are thine. ¹⁰ And all my things are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them. ¹¹ And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou hast given me: that they may be one, as we also are.

¹⁵ I pray not that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst keep them from evil. ¹⁶ They are not of the world, as I also am not of the world. ¹⁷ Sanctify them in truth. Thy word is truth. ¹⁸ As thou hast sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. ¹⁹ And for them do I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. ²⁰ And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in me. ²¹ That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

¹⁵ When therefore they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He saith to him again: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith to him: yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs. ¹⁷ He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep.

¹⁹ Be penitent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.

⁹ Christ died for us. Much more therefore, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from wrath through him. ¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son: much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

³² He that spared not even his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how hath he not also, with him, given us all things?

³⁴ Who is he that shall condemn? Christ Jesus that died: yea that is risen also again, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

⁴ Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we also may be able to comfort them who are in all distress, by the exhortation wherewith we also are exhorted by God. ⁵ For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us: so also by Christ doth our comfort abound. ⁶ Now whether we be in tribulation, it is for your exhortation and salvation: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation: or whether we be exhorted, it is for your exhortation and salvation, which worketh the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

¹³ Who before was a blasphemer and a persecutor and contumelious. But I obtained the mercy of God, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. ¹⁴ Now the grace of our Lord hath abounded exceedingly with faith and love, which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ A faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the chief. ¹⁶ But for this cause have I obtained mercy: that in me first Christ Jesus might shew forth all patience, for the information of them that shall believe in him unto life everlasting.

¹⁸ Who have erred from the truth, saying that the resurrection is past already, and have subverted the faith of some.

¹ Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of the elect of God and the acknowledging of the truth, which is according to godliness:

²⁵ Whereby he is able also to save for ever them that come to God by him; always living to make intercession for us.

¹² Wherefore, lift up the hands which hang down and the feeble knees: ¹³ And make straight steps with your feet: that no one, halting, may go out of the way; but rather be healed.

¹⁵ Looking diligently, lest any man be wanting to the grace of God: lest any root of bitterness springing up do hinder and by it many be defiled:

¹ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers dispersed through Pontus, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, elect,

⁵ Who, by the power of God, are kept by faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.

¹³ Wherefore, having the loins of your mind girt up, being sober, trust perfectly in the grace which is offered you in the revelation of Jesus Christ.

⁸ Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour. ⁹ Whom resist ye, strong in faith: knowing that the same affliction befalls, your brethren who are in the world. ¹⁰ But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, will himself perfect you and confirm you and establish you.

¹⁰ Wherefore, brethren, labour the more, that by good works you may make sure your calling and election. For doing these things, you shall not sin at any time. ¹¹ For so an entrance shall be ministered to you abundantly into the ever-lasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. ¹² For which cause, I will begin to put you always in remembrance of these things: though indeed you know them and are confirmed in the present truth.

¹⁴ Wherefore, dearly beloved, waiting for these things, be diligent that you may be found before him unspotted and blameless in peace.

¹⁷ You therefore, brethren, knowing these things before, take heed, lest being led aside by the error of the unwise, you fall from your own steadfastness. ¹⁸ But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and unto the day of eternity, Amen.

¹ My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. But if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the just. ² And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

¹⁹ They went out from us but they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would no doubt have remained with us: but that they may be manifest, that they are not all of us.
