³⁰ They sought therefore to apprehend him: and no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

^{10 (76:11)} For the thought of man shall give praise to thee: and the remainders of the thought shall keep holiday to thee.

¹⁰ Who shew from the beginning the things that shall be at last, and from ancient times the things that as yet are not done, saying: My counsel shall stand, and all my will shall be done:

⁴⁶ And seeking to lay hands on him, they feared the multitudes, because they held him as a prophet.

¹⁸ Which when the chief priests and the scribes had heard, they sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because the whole multitude was in admiration at his doctrine.

⁴⁷ And he was teaching daily in the temple. And the chief priests and the scribes and the rulers of the people sought to destroy him. ⁴⁸ And they found not what to do to him: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

¹⁹ And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him the same hour: but they feared the people, for they knew that he spoke this parable to them.

⁵³ When I was daily with you in the temple, you did not stretch forth your hands against me: but this is your hour and the power of darkness.

⁶ Then Jesus said to them: My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready.

⁸ Go you up to this festival day: but I go not up to this festival day, because my time is not accomplished.

³² The Pharisees heard the people murmuring these things concerning him: and the rulers and Pharisees sent ministers to apprehend him.

⁴⁴ And some of them would have apprehended him: but no man laid hands upon him. ⁴⁵ The ministers therefore came to the chief priests and the Pharisees. And they said to them: Why have you not brought him? ⁴⁶ The ministers answered: Never did man speak like this man.
