³ His sisters therefore sent to him, saying: Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

² He said to him: Take thy only begotten son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and go into the land of vision; and there thou shalt offer him for an holocaust upon one of the mountains which I will shew thee.

³ To the saints, who are in his land, he hath made wonderful all my desires in them.

¹ Now there was a certain man sick, named Lazarus, of Bethania, of the town of Mary and of Martha her sister.
