²⁸ And when she had said these things, she went and called her sister Mary secretly, saying: The master is come and calleth for thee.

⁸ The voice of my beloved, behold he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping over the hills. ⁹ My beloved is like a roe, or a young hart. ¹⁰ In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, every man shall call his friend under the vine and under the fig tree.

¹⁸ But Jesus said: Go ye into the city to a certain man and say to him: The master saith, My time is near at hand. With thee I make the pasch with my disciples.

⁴⁹ And Jesus, standing still, commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying to him: Be of better comfort. Arise, he calleth thee.

¹⁴ And whithersoever he shall go in, say to the master of the house, The master saith, Where is my refectory, where I may eat the pasch with my disciples?

³⁸ Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain town: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. ³⁹ And she had a sister called Mary. who, sitting also at the Lord's feet, heard his word. ⁴⁰ But Martha was busy about much serving. Who stood and said: Lord, hast thou no care that my sister hath left me alone to serve? Speak to her therefore, that she help me. ⁴¹ And the Lord answering, said to her: Martha, Martha, thou art careful and art troubled about many things: ⁴² But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her.

¹¹ And you shall say to the goodman of the house: The master saith to thee: Where is the guest chamber, where I may eat the pasch with my disciples?

⁴¹ He findeth first his brother Simon and saith to him: We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael and saith to him: We have found him of whom Moses, in the law and the prophets did write, Jesus the son of Joseph of Nazareth.

³ To him the porter openeth: and the sheep hear his voice. And he calleth his own sheep by name and leadeth them out.
