²⁶ Behold, God is great, exceeding our knowledge: the number of his years is inestimable.

²⁷ Is it then to be thought that God should indeed dwell upon earth? for if heaven, and the heavens of heavens, cannot contain thee, how much less this house which I have built?

⁵ Are thy days as the days of man, and are thy years as the times of men:

⁷ Peradventure thou wilt comprehend the steps of God, and wilt find out the Almighty perfectly? ⁸ He is higher than heaven, and what wilt thou do? he is deeper than hell, and how wilt thou know? ⁹ The measure of him is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

¹⁴ Lo, these things are said in part of his ways: and seeing we have heard scarce a little drop of his word, who shall be able to behold the thunder of his greatness?

⁵ God shall thunder wonderfully with his voice, he that doth great and unsearchable things.

²³ We cannot find him worthily: he is great in strength, and in judgment, and in justice, and he is ineffable.
