³ And said: I beseech thee, O Lord, remember how I have walked before thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Ezechias wept with great weeping.

²² And Henoch walked with God: and lived after he begot Mathusala, three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters. ²³ And all the days of Henoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.

⁹ These are the generations of Noe: Noe was a just and perfect man in his generations, he walked with God.

¹ And after he began to be ninety and nine years old, the Lord appeared to him: and said unto him: I am the Almighty God: walk before me, and be perfect.

⁴ That the Lord may confirm his words, which he hath spoken of me, saying: If thy children shall take heed to their ways, and shall walk before me in truth, with all their heart, and with all their soul, there shall not be taken away from thee a man on the throne of Israel.

¹⁴ But the high places he did not take away. Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was perfect with the Lord all his days:

⁵ He trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel: so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Juda, nor any of them that were before him: ⁶ And he stuck to the Lord, and departed not from his steps, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses.

⁹ And the people rejoiced, when they promised their offerings willingly: because they offered them to the Lord with all their heart: and David the king rejoiced also with a great joy.

¹⁹ And give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, that he may keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy ceremonies, and do all things: and build the house, for which I have provided the charges.

⁹ For the eyes of the Lord behold all the earth, and give strength to those who with a perfect heart trust in him. Wherefore thou hast done foolishly, and for this cause from this time wars shall arise against thee.

² And he did what was good in the sight of the Lord: but yet not with a perfect heart.

²⁰ So Ezechias did all things which we have said in all Juda, and wrought that which was good, and right, and truth, before the Lord his God, ²¹ In all the service of the house of the Lord according to the law and the ceremonies, desiring to seek his God with all his heart, and he did it and prospered.

¹ Now when Esdras was thus praying, and beseeching, and weeping, and lying before the temple of God, there was gathered to him of Israel an exceeding great assembly of men and women and children, and the people wept with much lamentation.

⁴ And when I had heard these words, I sat down, and wept, and mourned for many days: and I fasted, and prayed before the face of the God of heaven.

¹⁰ For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work and the love which you have shewn in his name, you who have ministered and do minister to the saints.

²¹ Dearly beloved, if our heart do not reprehend us, we have confidence towards God. ²² And whatsoever we shall ask, we shall receive of him: because we keep his commandments and do those things which are pleasing in his sight.
