²⁵ And they shall come near no dead person, lest they be defiled, only their father and mother, and son and daughter, and brother and sister, that hath not had another husband: for whom they may become unclean.

¹ The Lord said also to Moses: Speak to the priests the sons of Aaron, and thou shalt say for them: Let not a priest incur an uncleanness at the death of his citizens. ² But only for his kin, such as are near in blood: that is to say, for his father and for his mother, and for his son, and for his daughter, for his brother also: ³ And for a maiden sister, who hath had no husband. ⁴ But not even for the prince of his people shall he do any thing that may make him unclean. ⁵ Neither shall they shave their head, nor their beard, nor make incisions in their flesh. ⁶ They shall be holy to their God, and shall not profane his name. For they offer the burnt offering of the Lord, and the bread of their God: and therefore they shall be holy.

⁴ The man of the seed of Aaron, that is a leper, or that suffereth a running of the seed, shall not eat of those things that are sanctified to me, until he be healed. He that toucheth any thing unclean by occasion of the dead: and he whose seed goeth from him as in generation:

²¹ And another of his disciples said to him: Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. ²² But Jesus said to him: Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.

⁵⁹ But he said to another: Follow me. And he said: Lord, suffer me first to go and to bury my father. ⁶⁰ And Jesus said to him: Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

¹⁶ Wherefore henceforth, we know no man according to the flesh. And if we have known Christ according to the flesh: but now we know him so no longer.
