⁴ That I may make it manifest as I ought to speak.

²⁶ Therefore fear them not. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed: nor hid, that shall not be known. ²⁷ That which I tell you in the dark, speak ye in the light: and that which you hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops.

²⁹ And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants that with all confidence they may speak thy word,

²⁹ But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God rather than men.

⁴ And my speech and my preaching was not in the persuasive words of human wisdom. but in shewing of the Spirit and power: ⁵ That your faith might not stand on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

¹⁴ Now thanks be to God, who always maketh us to triumph in Christ Jesus and manifesteth the odour of his knowledge by us in every place. ¹⁵ For we are the good odour of Christ unto God, in them that are saved and in them that perish. ¹⁶ To the one indeed the odour of death unto death: but to the others the odour of life unto life. And for these things who is so sufficient? ¹⁷ For we are not as many, adulterating the word of God: but with sincerity: but as from God, before God, in Christ we speak.

¹² Having therefore such hope, we use much confidence.

¹ Therefore seeing we have this ministration, according as we have obtained mercy, we faint not. ² But we renounce the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness nor adulterating the word of God: but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience, in the sight of God. ³ And if our gospel be also hid, it is hid to them that are lost, ⁴ In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of unbelievers, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine unto them.

²⁰ For which I am an ambassador in a chain: so that therein I may be bold to speak according as I ought.

⁶ Let your speech be always in grace seasoned with salt: that you may know how you ought to answer every man.
