¹⁴ Blotting out the handwriting of the decree that was against us, which was contrary to us. And he hath taken the same out of the way, fastening it to the cross.

²³ And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and shall wash them out with the most bitter waters, upon which he hath heaped the curses,

⁵ Cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thy face, because they have mocked thy builders.

¹² And the king's scribes were called in the first month Nisan, on the thirteenth day of the same mouth: and they wrote, as Aman had commanded, to all the king's lieutenants, and to the judges of the provinces, and of divers nations, as every nation could read, and hear according to their different languages, in the name of king Assuerus: and the letters, sealed with his ring,

⁸ Write ye therefore to the Jews, as it pleaseth you in the king's name, and seal the letters with my ring. For this was the custom, that no man durst gainsay the letters which were sent in the king's name, and were sealed with his ring.

²⁵ I am, I am he that blot out thy iniquities for my own sake, and I will not remember thy sins.

²² I have blotted out thy iniquities as a cloud, and thy sins as a mist: return to me, for I have redeemed thee.

¹⁴ And I will say: Make a way: give free passage, turn out of the path, take away the stumblingblocks out of the way of my people.

⁷ And the king cried out aloud to bring in the wise men, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spoke, and said to the wise men of Babylon: Whosoever shall read this writing, and shall make known to me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with purple, and shall have a golden chain on his neck, and shall be the third man in my kingdom. ⁸ Then came in all the king's wise men, but they could neither read the writing, nor declare the interpretation to the king.

⁶ And they were both just before God, walking in all the commandments and justifications of the Lord without blame.

¹⁹ Be penitent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.

¹ As long as the heir is a child, he differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all, ² But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the father. ³ So we also, when we were children, were serving under the elements of the world. ⁴ But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent his Son, made of a woman, made under the law:

¹⁴ For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and breaking down the middle wall of partition, the enmities in his flesh: ¹⁵ Making void the law of commandments contained in decrees: that he might make the two in himself into one new man, making peace ¹⁶ And might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, killing the enmities in himself.

²⁰ If then you be dead with Christ from the elements of this world, why do you yet decree as though living in the world?

⁷ For the mystery of iniquity already worketh: only that he who now holdeth do hold, until he be taken out of the way.

¹⁸ There is indeed a setting aside of the former commandment, because of the weakness and unprofitableness thereof:

¹³ Now in saying a new, he hath made the former old. And that which decayeth and groweth old is near its end.

⁹ Which is a parable of the time present: according to which gifts and sacrifices are offered, which cannot, as to the conscience, make him perfect that serveth, only in meats and in drinks, ¹⁰ And divers washings and justices of the flesh laid on them until the time of correction.

⁸ In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law. ⁹ Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: He taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.

²⁴ Who his own self bore our sins in his body upon the tree: that we, being dead to sins, should live to justice: by whose stripes you were healed.
