³⁹ And Peter rising up went with them. And when he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber. And all the widows stood about him, weeping and shewing him the coats and garments which Dorcas made them.

²⁴ Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you with scarlet in delights, who gave ornaments of gold for your attire.

¹⁹ If I have despised him that was perishing for want of clothing, and the poor man that had no covering: ²⁰ If his sides have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep:

⁷ The memory of the just is with praises: and the name of the wicked shall rot.

³⁰ Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: the woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. ³¹ Give her of the fruit of her hands: and let her works praise her in the gates.

¹⁰ Whatsoever thy hand is able to do, do it earnestly: for neither work, nor reason, nor wisdom, nor knowledge shall be in hell, whither thou art hastening.

^{17 (17:16)} Then Jesus answered and said: O unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me.

³⁶ Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. ³⁷ Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry and fed thee: thirsty and gave thee drink? ³⁸ Or when did we see thee a stranger and took thee in? Or naked and covered thee? ³⁹ Or when did we see thee sick or in prison and came to thee?

¹¹ For the poor you have always with you: but me you have not always.

⁸ She hath done what she could: she is come beforehand to anoint my body for the burial.

⁴⁴ And he said to them: These are the words which I spoke to you while I was yet with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled which are written in the law of Moses and in the prophets and in the psalms, concerning me.

⁸ For the poor you have always with you: but me you have not always.

¹² While I was with them, I kept them in thy name. Those whom thou gavest me have I kept: and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition: that the scripture may be fulfilled.

⁴¹ And giving her his hand, he lifted her up. And when he had called the saints and the widows, he presented her alive.

³⁵ I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring you ought to support the weak and to remember the word of the Lord Jesus, how he said: It is a more blessed thing to give, rather than to receive.

¹² For if the will be forward, it is accepted according to that which a man hath: not according to that which he hath not.

²⁸ He that stole, let him now steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have something to give to him that suffereth need.

³ Being mindful of the work of your faith and labour and charity: and of the enduring of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before God and our Father.

^{13 (4:12)} And we will not have you ignorant brethren, concerning them that are asleep, that you be not sorrowful, even as others who have no hope.

¹⁵ And if a brother or sister be naked and want daily food: ¹⁶ And one of you say to them: Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; yet give them not those things that are necessary for the body, what shall it profit? ¹⁷ So faith also, if it have not works, is dead in itself.

¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word nor in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
