¹ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus: ² To Timothy, my dearly beloved son. Grace, mercy and peace, from God the Father and from Christ Jesus our Lord. ³ I give thanks to God, whom I serve from my forefathers, with a pure conscience, that without ceasing I have a remembrance of thee in my prayers, night and day. ⁴ Desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy: ⁵ Calling to mind that faith which is in thee unfeigned, which also dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois and in thy mother Eunice, and I am certain that in thee also. ⁶ For which cause I admonish thee that thou stir up the grace of God which is in thee by the imposition of my hands. ⁷ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power and of love and of sobriety. ⁸ Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but labour with the gospel, according to the power of God. ⁹ Who hath delivered us and called us by his holy calling, not according to our own works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the times of the world: ¹⁰ But is now made manifest by the illumination of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath destroyed death and hath brought to light life and incorruption by the gospel. ¹¹ Wherein I am appointed a preacher and an apostle and teacher of the Gentiles. ¹² For which cause, I also suffer these things: but I am not ashamed. For I know whom I have believed and I am certain that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him, against that day. ¹³ Hold the form of sound words which thou hast heard of me: in faith and in the love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁴ Keep the good thing committed to thy trust by the Holy Ghost who dwelleth in us. ¹⁵ Thou knowest this, that all they who are in Asia are turned away from me: of whom are Phigellus and Hermogenes. ¹⁶ The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus: because he hath often refreshed me and hath not been ashamed of my chain: ¹⁷ But when he was come to Rome, he carefully sought me and found me. ¹⁸ The Lord grant unto him to find mercy of the Lord in that day. And in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou very well knowest.

²⁶ And goats' hair, giving all of their own accord.

⁷ Not because you surpass all nations in number, is the Lord joined unto you, and hath chosen you, for you are the fewest of any people: ⁸ But because the Lord hath loved you, and hath kept his oath, which he swore to your fathers: and hath brought you out with a strong hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, out of the hand of Pharao the king of Egypt.

¹⁹ Remember me, O my God, for good according to all that I have done for this people.

²² I spoke also to the Levites that they should be purified, and should come to keep the gates, and to sanctify the sabbath day: for this also remember me, O my God, and spare me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

³¹ And for the offering of wood at times appointed, and for the firstfruits: remember me, O my God, unto good. Amen.

²¹ My son, let not these things depart from thy eyes: keep the law and counsel:

⁴ And he taught me, and said: Let thy heart receive my words, keep my commandments, and thou shalt live. ⁵ Get wisdom, get prudence: forget not, neither decline from the words of my mouth. ⁶ Forsake her not, and she shall keep thee: love her, and she shall preserve thee. ⁷ The beginning of wisdom, get wisdom, and with all thy possession purchase prudence. ⁸ Take hold on her, and she shall exalt thee: thou shalt be glorified by her, when thou shalt embrace her.

¹³ Take hold on instruction, leave it not: keep it, because it is thy life.

¹⁴ Counsel and equity is mine, prudence is mine, strength is mine.

²³ Buy truth, and do not sell wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

²⁰ To the law rather, and to the testimony. And if they speak not according to this word, they shall not have the morning light.

² Behold, God is my saviour, I will deal confidently, and will not fear: because the Lord is my strength, and my praise, and he is become my salvation.

²⁶ This is the counsel, that I have purposed upon all the earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all nations. ²⁷ For the Lord of hosts hath decreed, and who can disannul it? and his hand is stretched out: and who shall turn it away?

⁷ And he shall destroy in this mountain the face of the bond with which all people were tied, and the web that he began over all nations. ⁸ He shall cast death down headlong for ever: and the Lord God shall wipe away tears from every face, and the reproach of his people he shall take away from off the whole earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

³ For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I have given Egypt for thy atonement, Ethiopia and Saba for thee.

²⁶ Put me in remembrance, and let us plead together: tell if thou hast any thing to justify thyself.

¹⁵ Verily thou art a hidden God, the God of Israel the saviour.

²¹ Tell ye, and come, and consult together: who hath declared this from the beginning, who hath foretold this from that time? Have not I the Lord, and there is no God else besides me? A just God and a saviour, there is none besides me.

⁷ The Lord God is my helper, therefore am I not confounded: therefore have I set my face as a most hard rock, and I know that I shall not be confounded.

⁷ Hearken to me, you that know what is just, my people who have my law in your heart: fear ye not the reproach of men, and be not afraid of their blasphemies.

² For behold darkness shall cover the earth, and a mist the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. ³ And the Gentiles shall walk in thy light, and kings in the brightness of thy rising.

³ To appoint to the mourners of Sion, and to give them a crown for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, a garment of praise for the spirit of grief: and they shall be called in it the mighty ones of justice, the planting of the Lord to glorify him.

¹⁰ And after all this, her treacherous sister Juda hath not returned to me with her whole heart, but with falsehood, saith the Lord.

¹³ Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, the young men and old men together: and I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them joyful after their sorrow.

¹⁴ I will deliver them out of the hand of death. I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy death; O hell, I will be thy bite: comfort is hidden from my eyes.

⁸ But yet I am filled with the strength of the spirit of the Lord, with judgment and power: to declare unto Jacob his wickedness and to Israel his sin.

⁷ Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

²² Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in thy name, and cast out devils in thy name, and done many miracles in thy name?

⁴¹ He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet: and he that receiveth a just man in the name of a just man, shall receive the reward of a just man. ⁴² And whosoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, amen I say to you he shall not lose his reward.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to little ones. ²⁶ Yea, Father: for so hath it seemed good in thy sight.

²¹ And in his name the Gentiles shall hope.

³⁶ But of that day and hour no one knoweth: no, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone.

Behold here thou hast that which is thine. ²⁶ And his lord answering, said to him: Wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sow not and gather where I have not strewed. ²⁷ Thou oughtest therefore to have committed my money to the bankers: and at my coming I should have received my own with usury. ²⁸ Take ye away therefore the talent from him and give it him that hath ten talents. ²⁹ For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound: but from him that hath not, that also which he seemeth to have shall be taken away. ³⁰ And the unprofitable servant, cast ye out into the exterior darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

³⁴ Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ³⁵ For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: ³⁶ Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. ³⁷ Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry and fed thee: thirsty and gave thee drink? ³⁸ Or when did we see thee a stranger and took thee in? Or naked and covered thee? ³⁹ Or when did we see thee sick or in prison and came to thee? ⁴⁰ And the king answering shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.

³⁸ For he that shall be ashamed of me and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation: the Son of man also will be ashamed of him, when he shall come in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

⁷² To perform mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy testament.

⁷⁸ Through the bowels of the mercy of our God, in which the Orient from on high hath visited us:

¹¹ For, this day is born to you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David.

³¹ Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples: ³² A light to the revelation of the Gentiles and the glory of thy people Israel.

³⁷ And she was a widow until fourscore and four years: who departed not from the temple, by fastings and prayers serving night and day.

³ And Joanna the wife of Chusa, Herod's steward, and Susanna and many others who ministered unto him of their substance.

³⁵ And they went out to see what was done. And they came to Jesus and found the man out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at his feet, clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.

²⁶ For he that shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him the Son of man shall be ashamed, when he shall come in his majesty and that of his Father and of the holy angels.

¹² I say to you, it shall be more tolerable at that day for Sodom than for that city.

¹⁹ Behold, I have given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and upon all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall hurt you.

¹⁷ And returning to himself, he said: How many hired servants in my father's house abound with bread, and I here perish with hunger!

¹¹ If then you have not been faithful in the unjust mammon, who will trust you with that which is the true?

¹³ And calling his ten servants, he gave them ten pounds and said to them: Trade till I come.

⁴⁶ And Jesus crying with a loud voice, said: Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. And saying this, he gave up the ghost.

⁴⁹ And I send the promise of my Father upon you: but stay you in the city till you be endued with power from on high.

⁹ That was the true light, which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world.

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him and he saith of him: Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile.

Those whom thou gavest me have I kept: and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition: that the scripture may be fulfilled.

¹⁵ I pray not that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst keep them from evil.

²⁴ Father, I will that where I am, they also whom thou hast given me may be with me: that they may see my glory which thou hast given me, because thou hast loved me before the creation of the world.

³⁵ And he that saw it hath given testimony: and his testimony is true. And he knoweth that he saith true: that you also may believe.

³¹ But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing, you may have life in his name.

⁸ But you shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth.

⁴⁷ Praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord increased daily together such as should be saved.

³¹ Him hath God exalted with his right hand, to be Prince and Saviour. to give repentance to Israel and remission of sins.

⁴¹ And they indeed went from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were accounted worthy to suffer reproach for the name of Jesus.

⁸ And Stephen, full of grace and fortitude, did great wonders and signs among the people.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas said boldly: To you it behoved us first to speak the word of God: but because you reject it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold we turn to the Gentiles.

⁵⁰ But the Jews stirred up religious and honourable women and the chief men of the city: and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas: and cast them out of their coasts.

⁵ And when there was an assault made by the Gentiles and the Jews with their rulers, to use them contumeliously and to stone them: ⁶ They, understanding it, fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the whole country round about:

¹⁸ To the Lord was his own work known from the beginning of the world.

¹ And he came to Derbe and Lystra. And behold, there was a certain disciple there named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman that believed: but his father was a Gentile.

⁶ And when they had passed through Phrygia and the country of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia.

¹ And it came to pass, while Apollo was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper coasts, came to Ephesus and found certain disciples.

⁶ And when Paul had imposed his hands on them, the Holy Ghost came upon them: and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

¹⁰ And this continued for the space of two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Gentiles.

²⁷ So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought, but also the temple of great Diana shall be reputed for nothing! Yea, and her majesty shall begin to be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

³¹ And some also of the rulers of Asia, who were his friends, sent unto him, desiring that he would not venture himself into the theatre.

¹⁶ For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, lest he should be stayed any time in Asia. For he hasted. if it were possible for him, to keep the day of Pentecost at Jerusalem.

¹⁹ Serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and temptations which befell me by the conspiracies of the Jews:

²⁴ But I fear none of these things, neither do I count my life more precious than myself, so that I may consummate my course and the ministry of the word which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

³¹ Therefore watch, keeping in memory that for three years I ceased not with tears to admonish every one of you, night and day.

³⁷ And there was much weeping among them all. And falling on the neck of Paul, they kissed him, ³⁸ Being grieved most of all for the word which he had said, that they should see his face no more. And they brought him on his way to the ship.

¹³ Then Paul answered and said: What do you mean, weeping and afflicting my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but to die also in Jerusalem, for the name of the Lord Jesus.

²⁷ But when the seven days were drawing to an end, those Jews that were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people and laid hands upon him, crying out: ²⁸ Men of Israel, help: This is the man that teacheth all men every where against the people and the law and this place; and moreover hath brought in Gentiles into the temple and hath violated this holy place. ²⁹ (For they had seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him. whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.) ³⁰ And he whole city was in an uproar: and the people ran together. And taking Paul, they drew him out of the temple: and immediately the doors were shut. ³¹ And as they went about to kill him, it was told the tribune of the band that all Jerusalem was in confusion.

³ And he saith: I am a Jew, born at Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up in this city, at the feet of Gamaliel, taught according to the truth of the law of the fathers, zealous for the law, as also all you are this day:

²¹ And he said to me: Go, for unto the Gentiles afar off will I send thee. ²² And they heard him until this word and then lifted up their voice, saying: Away with such an one from the earth. For it is not fit that he should live. ²³ And as they cried out and threw off their garments and cast dust into the air, ²⁴ The tribune commanded him to be brought into the castle, and that he should be scourged and tortured: to know for what cause they did so cry out against him.

¹ And Paul, looking upon the council, said: Men, brethren, I have conversed with all good conscience before God until this present day.

¹⁴ But this I confess to thee that according to the way which they call a heresy, so do I serve the Father and my God, believing all things which are written in the law and the prophets:

¹⁶ And herein do I endeavour to have always a conscience without offence, towards God and towards men.

⁴ And my life indeed from my youth, which was from the beginning among my own nation in Jerusalem, all the Jews do know:

¹¹ And oftentimes punishing them, in every synagogue, I compelled them to blaspheme: and being yet more mad against them, I persecuted them even unto foreign cities.

⁷ To them indeed who, according to patience in good work, seek glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life:

²⁰ An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, having the form of knowledge and of truth in the law.

Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it: Why hast thou made me thus? ²¹ Or hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump, to make one vessel unto honour and another unto dishonour? ²² What if God, willing to shew his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath, fitted for destruction, ²³ That he might shew the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy which he hath prepared unto glory? ²⁴ Even us, whom also he hath called, not only of the Jews but also of the Gentiles.

³³ As it is written: Behold I lay in Sion a stumbling-stone and a rock of scandal. And whosoever believeth in him shall not be confounded.

⁵ Even so then, at this present time also, there is a remnant saved according to the election of grace. ⁶ And if by grace, it is not now by works: otherwise grace is no more grace.

⁶ And having different gifts, according to the grace that is given us, either prophecy, to be used according to the rule of faith; ⁷ Or ministry, in ministering; or he that teacheth, in doctrine; ⁸ He that exhorteth, in exhorting; he that giveth, with simplicity; he that ruleth, with carefulness; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

¹² And again, Isaias saith: There shall be a root of Jesse; and he that shall rise up to rule the Gentiles, in him the Gentiles shall hope. ¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing: that you may abound in hope and in the power of the Holy Ghost. ¹⁴ And I myself also, my brethren, am assured of you that you also are full of love, replenished with all knowledge, so that you are able to admonish one another.

³⁰ I beseech you therefore, brethren, through our Lord Jesus Christ and by the charity of the Holy Ghost, that you help me in your prayers for me to God, ³¹ That I may be delivered from the unbelievers that are in Judea and that the oblation of my service may be acceptable in Jerusalem to the saints. ³² That I may come to you with joy, by the will of God, and may be refreshed with you.

²⁵ Now to him that is able to establish you, according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was kept secret from eternity; ²⁶ (Which now is made manifest by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the precept of the eternal God, for the obedience of faith) known among all nations:

⁵ Therefore, judge not before the time: until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall every man have praise from God.

⁹ For I think that God hath set forth us apostles, the last, as it were men appointed to death. We are made a spectacle to the world and to angels and to men. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christs sake, but you are wise in Christ: we are weak, but you are strong: you are honourable, but we without honour. ¹¹ Even unto this hour we both hunger and thirst and are naked and are buffeted and have no fixed abode. ¹² And we labour, working with our own hands. We are reviled: and we bless. We are persecuted: and we suffer it. ¹³ We are blasphemed: and we entreat. We are made as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all, even until now.

¹⁹ Or know you not that your members are the temple of the Holy Ghost, who is in you, whom you have from God: and you are not your own?

¹⁷ For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation is committed to me.

²⁶ And the enemy, death, shall be destroyed last: For he hath put all things under his feet. And whereas he saith:

⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption: and this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ And when this mortal hath put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. ⁵⁵ O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?

⁸ But I will tarry at Ephesus, until Pentecost.

¹⁸ For they have refreshed both my spirit and yours. Know them, therefore, that are such. ¹⁹ The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house, with whom I also lodge.

⁶ In chastity, in knowledge, in longsuffering, in sweetness, in the Holy Ghost, in charity unfeigned, ⁷ In the word of truth, in the power of God: by the armour of justice on the right hand and on the left:

¹ For concerning the ministry that is done towards the saints, it is superfluous for me to write unto you.

¹² Because the administration of this office doth not only supply the want of the saints, but aboundeth also by many thanksgivings in the Lord. ¹³ By the proof of this ministry, glorifying God for the obedience of your confession unto the gospel of Christ and for the simplicity of your communicating unto them and unto all. ¹⁴ And in their praying for you, being desirous of you, because of the excellent grace of God in you.

²³ They are the ministers of Christ (I speak as one less wise): I am more; in many more labours, in prisons more frequently, in stripes above measure, in deaths often. ²⁴ Of the Jews five times did I receive forty stripes save one. ²⁵ Thrice was I beaten with rods: once I was stoned: thrice I suffered shipwreck: a night and a day I was in the depth of the sea. ²⁶ In journeying often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils from my own nation, in perils from the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils from false brethren: ²⁷ In labour and painfulness, in much watchings, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness:

⁹ And he said to me: My grace is sufficient for thee: for power is made perfect in infirmity. Gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. ¹⁰ For which cause I please myself in my infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ. For when I am weak, then am I powerful.

¹⁴ And I made progress in the Jew's religion above many of my equals in my own nation, being more abundantly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with spiritual blessings in heavenly places, in Christ: ⁴ As he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and unspotted in his sight in charity.

⁹ That he might make known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he hath purposed in him,

¹¹ In whom we also are called by lot, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things according to the counsel of his will. ¹² That we may be unto the praise of his glory: we who before hoped in Christ: ¹³ In whom you also, after you had heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation), in whom also believing, you were signed with the holy Spirit of promise.

¹⁶ Cease not to give thanks for you, making commemoration of you in my prayers,

¹⁸ The eyes of your heart enlightened that you may know what the hope is of his calling and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.

²⁷ Only let your conversation be worthy of the gospel of Christ: that, whether I come and see you, or, being absent, may hear of you, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind labouring together for the faith of the gospel.

²¹ For all seek the things that are their own not the things that are Jesus Christ's.

²¹ Who will reform the body of our lowness, made like to the body of his glory, according to the operation whereby also he is able to subdue all things unto himself.

¹ Therefore my dearly beloved brethren and most desired, my joy and my crown: so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

⁹ The things which you have both learned and received and heard and seen in me, these do ye: and the God of peace shall be with you.

¹¹ Strengthened with all might according to the power of his glory, in all patience and longsuffering with joy,

²⁴ Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church:

²⁶ The mystery which hath been hidden from ages and generations, but now is manifested to his saints, ²⁷ To whom God would make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ, in you the hope of glory.

¹¹ And Jesus that is called Justus: who are of the circumcision. These only are my helpers, in the kingdom of God: who have been a comfort to me.

² Grace be to you and peace. We give thanks to God always for you all: making a remembrance of you in our prayers without ceasing, ³ Being mindful of the work of your faith and labour and charity: and of the enduring of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before God and our Father.

¹⁶ Prohibiting us to speak to the Gentiles, that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath of God is come upon them to the end. ¹⁷ But we, brethren, being taken away from you for a short time, in sight, not in heart, have hastened the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.

¹⁹ For what is our hope or joy or crown of glory? Are not you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

⁴ For even when we were with you, we foretold you that we should suffer tribulations: as also it is come to pass, and you know.

⁷ For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto sanctification.

⁴ But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief.

¹⁹ To lay up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the true life. ²⁰ O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding the profane novelties of words and oppositions of knowledge falsely so called.

¹⁰ But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience, ¹¹ Persecutions, afflictions: such as came upon me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra: what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord delivered me. ¹² And all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

¹⁴ But continue thou in those things which thou hast learned and which have been committed to thee. Knowing of whom thou hast learned them: ¹⁵ And because from thy infancy thou hast known the holy scriptures which can instruct thee to salvation by the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

² Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine.

⁵ But be thou vigilant, labour in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry. Be sober.

⁸ As to the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice which the Lord the just judge will render to me in that day: and not only to me, but to them also that love his coming.
