¹⁴ For the charity of Christ presseth us: judging this, that if one died for all, then all were dead.

³⁷ He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me. ³⁸ And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me.

²⁸ Even as the Son of man is not come to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life a redemption for many.

⁴² And whereas they had not wherewith to pay, he forgave them both. Which therefore of the two loveth him most? ⁴³ Simon answering, said: I suppose that he to whom he forgave most. And he said to him: Thou hast judged rightly. ⁴⁴ And turning to the woman, he said unto Simon: Dost thou see this woman? I entered into thy house: thou gavest me no water for my feet. But she with tears hath washed my feet; and with her hairs hath wiped them. ⁴⁵ Thou gavest me no kiss. But she, since she cane in, hath not ceased to kiss my feet. ⁴⁶ My head with oil thou didst not anoint. But she with ointment hath anointed my feet. ⁴⁷ Wherefore, I say to thee: Many sins are forgiven her, because she hath loved much. But to whom less is forgiven, he loveth less.

²⁴ Because this my son was dead and is come to life again, was lost and is found. And they began to be merry.

³² But it was fit that we should make merry and be glad: for this thy brother was dead and is come to life again; he was lost, and is found.

²⁹ But they constrained him, saying: Stay with us, because it is towards evening and the day is now far spent. And he went in with them.

²⁹ The next day, John saw Jesus coming to him; and he saith: Behold the Lamb of God. Behold him who taketh away the sin of the world.

²⁵ Amen, amen, I say unto you, that the hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

²⁵ Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, although he be dead, shall live:

⁵⁰ Neither do you consider that it is expedient for you that one man should die for the people and that the whole nation perish not. ⁵¹ And this he spoke not of himself: but being the high priest of that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation. ⁵² And not only for the nation, but to gather together in one the children of God that were dispersed.

¹⁵ When therefore they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He saith to him again: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith to him: yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs. ¹⁷ He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep.

¹⁹ But Peter and John answering, said to them: If it be just, in the sight of God, to hear you rather than God, judge ye. ²⁰ For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

⁵ And when Silas and Timothy were come from Macedonia, Paul was earnest in preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.

² For we know that the judgment of God is, according to truth, against them that do such things.

¹⁵ But not as the offence, so also the gift. For if by the offence of one, many died: much more the grace of God and the gift, by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

⁷ For none of us liveth to himself: and no man dieth to himself. ⁸ For whether we live, we live unto the Lord: or whether we die, we die unto the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ For to this end Christ died and rose again: that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

¹⁴ But the sensual man perceiveth not these things that are of the Spirit of God. For it is foolishness to him: and he cannot understand, because it is spiritually examined.

²² If any man love not our Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathema, maranatha.

⁷ Now if the ministration of death, engraven with letters upon stones, was glorious (so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses, for the glory of his countenance), which is made void:

⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more the ministration of justice aboundeth in glory.

⁸ I speak not as commanding: but by the carefulness of others, approving also the good disposition of your charity. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that being rich he became poor for your sakes: that through his poverty you might be rich.

²⁰ And I live, now not I: but Christ liveth in me. And that I live now in the flesh: I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and delivered himself for me.

¹ And you, when you were dead in your offences and sins, ² Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of this air, of the spirit that now worketh on the children of unbelief: ³ In which also we all conversed in time past, in the desires of our flesh, fulfilling the will of the flesh and of our thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest: ⁴ But God (who is rich in mercy) for his exceeding charity wherewith he loved us ⁵ Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together in Christ (by whose grace you are saved)

¹⁸ You may be able to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, ¹⁹ To know also the charity of Christ, which surpasseth all knowledge: that you may be filled unto all the fulness of God.

²⁴ Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption. Amen.

¹³ And you, when you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he hath quickened together with him, forgiving you all offences:

⁶ Who gave himself a redemption for all, a testimony in due times.

⁶ For she that liveth in pleasures is dead while she is living.

³ For we ourselves also were some time unwise, incredulous, erring, slaves to divers desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour: that, through the grace of God he might taste death for all.

¹⁰ For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work and the love which you have shewn in his name, you who have ministered and do minister to the saints.

⁸ Whom having not seen, you love: in whom also now though you see him not, you believe and, believing, shall rejoice with joy unspeakable and glorified;

¹ My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. But if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the just. ² And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

¹⁹ We know that we are of God and the whole world is seated in wickedness.
