¹⁵ Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us, and please not God, and are adversaries to all men;

⁸ And Aman said to king Assuerus: There is a people scattered through all the provinces of thy kingdom, and separated one from another, that use new laws and ceremonies, and moreover despise the king's ordinances: and thou knowest very well that it is not expedient for thy kingdom that they should grow insolent by impunity.

¹² And Amasias said to Amos: Thou seer, go, flee away into the land of Juda: and eat bread there, and prophesy there.

¹² Be glad and rejoice for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you.

³⁵ And the husbandmen laying hands on his servants, beat one and killed another and stoned another. ³⁶ Again he sent other servants, more than the former; and they did to them in like manner. ³⁷ And last of all he sent to them his son, saying: They will reverence my son. ³⁸ But the husbandmen seeing the son, said among themselves: This is the heir: come, let us kill him, and we shall have his inheritance. ³⁹ And taking him, they cast him forth out of the vineyard and killed him.

³¹ Wherefore you are witnesses against yourselves, that you are the sons of them that killed the prophets. ³² Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. ³³ You serpents, generation of vipers, how will you flee from the judgment of hell? ³⁴ Therefore behold I send to you prophets and wise men and scribes: and some of them you will put to death and crucify: and some you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city. ³⁵ That upon you may come all the just blood that hath been shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the just, even unto the blood of Zacharias the son of Barachias, whom you killed between the temple and the altar.

³⁷ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets and stonest them that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered together thy children, as the hen doth gather her chickens under her wings, and thou wouldst not?

²⁵ And the whole people answering, said: His blood be upon us and upon our children.

⁴⁸ Truly you bear witness that you consent to the doings of your fathers. ³³ Nevertheless, I must walk to-day and to-morrow and the day following, because it cannot be that a prophet perish, out of Jerusalem. ³⁴ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets; and stonest them that are sent to thee, how often would I have gathered thy children as the bird doth her brood under her wings, and thou wouldest not?

²⁰ And how our chief priests and princes delivered him to be condemned to death and crucified him.

²³ This same being delivered up, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you by the hands of wicked men have crucified and slain.

¹⁵ But the author of life you killed, whom God hath raised from the dead: of which we are witnesses.

¹⁰ Be it known to you all and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, even by him, this man standeth here before you, whole.

³⁰ The God of our fathers hath raised up Jesus, whom you put to death, hanging him upon a tree.

⁵² Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? And they have slain them who foretold of the coming of the Just One: of whom you have been now the betrayers and murderers.

³ And seeing that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to take up Peter also. Now it was in the days of the Azymes.

¹⁸ And saw him saying unto me: Make haste and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: because they will not receive thy testimony concerning me. ¹⁹ And I said: Lord, they know that I cast into prison and beat in every synagogue them that believed in thee. ²⁰ And when the blood of Stephen thy witness was shed, I stood by and consented: and kept the garments of them that killed him. ²¹ And he said to me: Go, for unto the Gentiles afar off will I send thee.

⁵ But with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the desert.
