¹⁰ And suborn two men, sons of Belial, against him. and let them bear false witness; that he hath blasphemed God and the king: and then carry him out, and stone him, and so let him die.

²⁸ Thou shalt not speak ill of the gods, and the prince of thy people thou shalt not curse.

¹⁵ And thou shalt speak to the children of Israel: The man that curseth his God, shall bear his sin: ¹⁶ And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die. All the multitude shall stone him, whether he be a native or a stranger. He that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die.

¹³ Children of Belial are gone out of the midst of thee, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, and have said: Let us go, and serve strange gods which you know not:

¹⁵ One witness shall not rise up against any man, whatsoever the sin or wickedness be: but in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall stand.

²² While they were making merry, and refreshing their bodies with meat and drink, after the labour of the journey, the men of that city, sons of Belial (that is, without yoke), came and beset the old man's house, and began to knock at the door, calling to the master of the house, and saying: Bring forth the man that came into thy house, that we may abuse him:

⁵⁹ And the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death. ⁶⁰ And they found not, whereas many false witnesses had come in. And last of all there came two false witnesses: ⁶¹ And they said: This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God and after three days to rebuild it. ⁶² And the high priest rising up, said to him: Answerest thou nothing to the things which these witness against thee? ⁶³ But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said to him: I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us if thou be the Christ the Son of God. ⁶⁴ Jesus saith to him: Thou hast said it. Nevertheless I say to you, hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of the power of God and coming in the clouds of heaven. ⁶⁵ Then the high priest rent his garments, saying: He hath blasphemed: What further need have we of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard the blasphemy. ⁶⁶ What think you? But they answering, said: He is guilty of death.

³³ The Jews answered him: For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy: and because that thou. being a, man, makest thyself God.

¹¹ Then they suborned men to say they had heard him speak words of blasphemy against Moses and against God.

¹³ And they set up false witnesses, who said: This man ceaseth not to speak words against the holy place and the law.
