¹⁰ According to the grace of God that is given to me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation: and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

⁹ Give therefore to thy servant an understanding heart, to judge thy people, and discern between good and evil. For who shall be able to judge this people, thy people, which is so numerous? ¹⁰ And the word was pleasing to the Lord, that Solomon had asked such a thing. ¹¹ And the Lord said to Solomon: Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life nor riches, nor the lives of thy enemies, but hast asked for thyself wisdom to discern jndgment;

¹² And he added, saying: Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who hath given to king David a wise and knowing son, endued with understanding and prudence, to build a house to the Lord, and a palace for himself.

⁹ And whereas Ecclesiastes was very wise, he taught the people, and declared the things that he had done: and seeking out, he set forth many parables.

³ But they that are learned, shall shine as the brightness of the firmament: and they that instruct many to justice, as stars for all eternity.

⁹ The hands of Zorobabel have laid the foundations of this house, and his hands shall finish it: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to you.

²⁴ Every one therefore that heareth these my words, and doth them, shall be likened to a wise man that built his house upon a rock,

⁴⁵ Who, thinkest thou, is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath appointed over his family, to give them meat in season?

³⁵ Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

⁸ Who said: Take heed you be not seduced: for many will come in my name, saying: I am he and the time is at hand. Go ye not therefore after them.

²⁷ And whereas he was desirous to go to Achaia, the brethren exhorting wrote to the disciples to receive him. Who, when he was come, helped them much who had believed.

⁵ By whom we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith, in all nations, for his name:

³ For I say, by the grace that is given me, to all that are among you, not to be more wise than it behoveth to be wise, but to be wise unto sobriety and according as God hath divided to every one the measure of faith.

¹⁵ But I have written to you, brethren, more boldly in some sort, as it were putting you in mind, because of the grace which is given me from God,

²⁰ And I have so preached this gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man a foundation.

⁵ The ministers of him whom you have believed: and to every one as the Lord hath given. ⁶ I have planted, Apollo watered: but God gave the increase.

¹¹ For other foundation no man can lay, but that which is laid: which is Christ Jesus.

² And if unto others I be not an apostle, but yet to you I am. For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God, I am what I am. And his grace in me hath not been void: but I have laboured more abundantly than all they. Yet not I, but the grace of God with me: ¹¹ For whether I or they, so we preach: and so you have believed. ¹² Now if Christ be preached, that he arose again from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

¹⁵ Not glorying beyond measure in other men's labours: but having hope of your increasing faith, to be magnified in you according to our rule abundantly.

¹³ For such false apostles are deceitful workmen, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no wonder: for Satan himself transformeth himself into an angel of light. ¹⁵ Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers be transformed as the ministers of justice, whose end shall be according to their works.

²⁰ Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone:

² If yet you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me towards you: ³ How that, according to revelation, the mystery has been made known to me, as I have written above in a few words: ⁴ As you reading, may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ, ⁵ Which in other generations was not known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit: ⁶ That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs and of the same body: and copartners of his promise in Christ Jesus, by the gospel ⁷ Of which I am made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God, which is given to me according to the operation of his power. ⁸ To me, the least of all the saints, is given this grace, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ:

²⁹ Wherein also I labour, striving according to his working which he worketh in me in power.

¹⁷ And say to Archippus: Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

¹¹ Which is according to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God which hath been committed to my trust. ¹² I give him thanks who hath strengthened me, even to Christ Jesus our Lord, for that he hath counted me faithful, putting me in the ministry: ¹³ Who before was a blasphemer and a persecutor and contumelious. But I obtained the mercy of God, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. ¹⁴ Now the grace of our Lord hath abounded exceedingly with faith and love, which is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁶ Take heed to thyself and to doctrine: be earnest in them. For in doing this thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear thee.

¹⁵ Carefully study to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

¹ Be ye not many masters, my brethren, knowing that you receive the greater judgment.

¹¹ If any man speak, let him speak, as the words of God. If any minister, let him do it, as of the power which God administereth: that in all things God may be honoured through Jesus Christ: to whom is glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers who shall bring in sects of perdition and deny the Lord who bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction. ² And many shall follow their riotousness, through whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. ³ And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you. Whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not: and their perdition slumbereth not.

¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations: And in them, the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb,
