¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no schisms among you: but that you be perfect in the same mind and in the same judgment.

¹ A gradual canticle of David. Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity:

³⁹ And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me all days: and that it may be well with them, and with their children after them.

¹⁶ And nobody putteth a piece of raw cloth unto an old garment. For it taketh away the fulness thereof from the garment, and there is made a greater rent.

²¹ No man seweth a piece of raw cloth to an old garment: otherwise the new piecing taketh away from the old, and there is made a greater rent.

⁴³ So there arose a dissension among the people because of him.

¹⁶ Some therefore of the Pharisees said: This man is not of God, who keepeth not the sabbath. But others said: How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

¹⁹ A dissension rose again among the Jews for these words.

³⁴ A new commandment I give unto you: That you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another. ³⁵ By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another.

²³ I in them, and thou in me: that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them, as thou hast also loved me.

³² And the multitude of believers had but one heart and one soul. Neither did any one say that aught of the things which he possessed was his own: but all things were common unto them.

¹ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercy of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing unto God, your reasonable service.

¹⁶ Being of one mind one towards another. Not minding high things, but consenting to the humble. Be not wise in your own conceits.

⁵ Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of one mind, one towards another, according to Jesus Christ: ⁶ That with one mind and with one mouth you may glorify God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

³⁰ I beseech you therefore, brethren, through our Lord Jesus Christ and by the charity of the Holy Ghost, that you help me in your prayers for me to God,

¹⁷ Now I beseech you, brethren, to mark them who make dissensions and offences contrary to the doctrine which you have learned and avoid them.

¹⁶ Wherefore, I beseech you, be ye followers of me as I also am of Christ.

¹⁸ For first of all I hear that when you come together in the church, there are schisms among you. And in part I believe it.

²⁵ That there might be no schism in the body: but the members might be mutually careful one for another.

²⁰ For Christ therefore we are ambassadors, God as it were exhorting by us, for Christ, we beseech you, be reconciled to God.

¹ And we helping do exhort you that you receive not the grace of God in vain.

¹ Now I Paul, myself beseech you, by the mildness and modesty of Christ: who in presence indeed am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

¹¹ For the rest, brethren, rejoice, be perfect, take exhortation, be of one mind, have peace. And the God of grace and of love shall be with you.

¹² Be ye as I, because I also am as you brethren, I beseech you. You have not injured me at all.

¹ I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation in which you are called: ² With all humility and mildness, with patience, supporting one another in charity. ³ Careful to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. ⁴ One body and one Spirit: as you are called in one hope of your calling. ⁵ One Lord, one faith, one baptism. ⁶ One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in us all. ⁷ But to every one of us is given grace, according to the measure of the giving of Christ.

³¹ Let all bitterness and anger and indignation and clamour and blasphemy be put away from you, with all malice. ³² And be ye kind one to another: merciful, forgiving one another, even as God hath forgiven you in Christ.

²⁷ Only let your conversation be worthy of the gospel of Christ: that, whether I come and see you, or, being absent, may hear of you, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind labouring together for the faith of the gospel.

¹ If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of charity, if any society of the spirit, if any bowels of commiseration: ² Fulfil ye my joy, that you be of one mind, having the same charity, being of one accord, agreeing in sentiment. ³ Let nothing be done through contention: neither by vain glory. But in humility, let each esteem others better than themselves: ⁴ Each one not considering the things that are his own, but those that are other men's.

¹⁶ Nevertheless, whereunto we are come, that we be of the same mind, let us also continue in the same rule.

¹ For the rest therefore, brethren, pray and beseech you in the Lord Jesus that, as you have received from us, how you ought to walk and to please God, so also you would walk, that you may abound the more. ² For you know what precepts I have given to you by the Lord Jesus.

¹³ That you esteem them more abundantly in charity, for their work's sake. Have peace with them.

¹ And we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and of our gathering together unto him:

²¹ I charge thee, before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by declining to either side.

¹ I charge thee, before God and Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, by his coming and his kingdom:

⁹ For charity sake I rather beseech, whereas thou art such a one, as Paul, an old man and now a prisoner also of Jesus Christ. ¹⁰ I beseech thee for my son, whom I have begotten in my bands, Onesimus,

¹³ Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge, among you? Let him shew, by a good contestation, his work in the meekness of wisdom. ¹⁴ But if you have bitter zeal, and there be contention in your hearts: glory not and be not liars against the truth. ¹⁵ For this is not wisdom, descending from above: but earthly, sensual, devilish. ¹⁶ For where envying and contention is: there is inconstancy and every evil work. ¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above, first indeed is chaste, then peaceable, modest, easy to be persuaded, consenting to the good, full of mercy and good fruits, without judging, without dissimulation. ¹⁸ And the fruit of justice is sown in peace, to them that make peace.

¹¹ Dearly beloved, I beseech you, as strangers and pilgrims, to refrain yourselves from carnal desires which war against the soul,

⁸ And in fine, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, being lovers of the brotherhood, merciful, modest, humble: ⁹ Not rendering evil for evil, nor railing for railing, but contrariwise, blessing: for unto this are you called, that you may inherit a blessing.
