⁸ And I destroyed three shepherds in one month; and my soul was vexed with them, and their soul also loathed me.

¹¹ And I will set my habitation among you; and my soul shall not abhor you;

³⁰ And I will lay waste your high places, and cut down your sun-pillars, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols; and my soul shall abhor you.

⁴⁴ And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not despise them, and will not abhor them, to make an end of them utterly, to break my covenant with them, for I am Jehovah their God.

¹⁹ And Jehovah saw it, and despised them, Because of the provoking of his sons and of his daughters.

⁵ Insolent fools shall not stand before thine eyes; thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

⁹ The sons of Ephraim, armed bowmen, turned back in the day of battle.

⁴⁰ Then was the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he abhorred his inheritance;

⁷ Thus saith Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to the servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise, princes, and they shall worship, because of Jehovah who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee.

⁸ My heritage is become unto me as a lion in the forest; it hath raised its voice against me: therefore have I hated it.

²¹ For thy name`s sake, do not spurn [us], do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.

⁷ They have dealt treacherously against Jehovah; for they have begotten strange children: now shall the new moon devour them, with their allotted possessions.

¹⁵ All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them: because of the wickedness of their doings, I will drive them out of my house, I will love them no more: all their princes are rebellious.

³⁴ Therefore, behold, *I* send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes; and [some] of them ye will kill and crucify, and [some] of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and will persecute from city to city; ³⁵ so that all righteous blood shed upon the earth should come upon *you*, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

⁵⁰ the lord of that bondman shall come in a day when he does not expect it, and in an hour he knows not of, ⁵¹ and shall cut him in two and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to be baptised with, and how am I straitened until it shall have been accomplished!

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not that this [man] should reign over us.

⁷ The world cannot hate you, but me it hates, because I bear witness concerning it that its works are evil.

¹⁸ If the world hate you, know that it has hated me before you.

²³ He that hates me hates also my Father. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other one has done, they had not had sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father. ²⁵ But that the word written in their law might be fulfilled, They hated me without a cause.

³⁸ But the just shall live by faith; and, if he draw back, my soul does not take pleasure in him.
