¹² The night is far spent, and the day is near; let us cast away therefore the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

¹⁴ The murderer riseth with the light, killeth the afflicted and needy, and in the night is as a thief. ¹⁵ And the eye of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me; and he putteth a covering on [his] face. ¹⁶ In the dark they dig through houses; by day they shut themselves in; they know not the light: ¹⁷ For the morning is to them all [as] the shadow of death; for they are familiar with the terrors of the shadow of death.

¹⁷ Until the day dawn, and the shadows flee away. Turn, my beloved: be thou like a gazelle or a young hart, Upon the mountains of Bether.

²⁰ In that day men shall cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made [each] for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

²² And ye shall defile the silver covering of your graven images, and the gold overlaying of your molten images; thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth: Out! shalt thou say unto it.

³¹ Cast away from you all your transgressions wherewith ye have transgressed, and make you a new heart and a new spirit: why then will ye die, house of Israel? ³² For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord Jehovah; therefore turn ye and live.

¹⁹ And this is the judgment, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light; for their works were evil. ²⁰ For every one that does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light that his works may not be shewn as they are; ²¹ but he that practises the truth comes to the light, that his works may be manifested that they have been wrought in God.

¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take forethought for the flesh to [fulfil its] lusts.

⁷ in [the] word of truth, in [the] power of God; through the arms of righteousness on the right hand and left,

²² [namely] your having put off according to the former conversation the old man which corrupts itself according to the deceitful lusts;

¹¹ and do not have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather also reprove [them],

¹¹ Put on the panoply of God, that ye may be able to stand against the artifices of the devil: ¹² because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against authorities, against the universal lords of this darkness, against spiritual [power] of wickedness in the heavenlies. ¹³ For this reason take [to you] the panoply of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having accomplished all things, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having girt about your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, ¹⁵ and shod your feet with [the] preparation of the glad tidings of peace: ¹⁶ besides all [these], having taken the shield of faith with which ye will be able to quench all the inflamed darts of the wicked one. ¹⁷ Have also the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God`s word; ¹⁸ praying at all seasons, with all prayer and supplication in [the] Spirit, and watching unto this very thing with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;

⁸ But now, put off, *ye* also, all [these] things, wrath, anger, malice, blasphemy, vile language out of your mouth. ⁹ Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his deeds, ¹⁰ and having put on the new, renewed into full knowledge according to [the] image of him that has created him; ¹¹ wherein there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ [is] everything, and in all. ¹² Put on therefore, as [the] elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering; ¹³ forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any should have a complaint against any; even as the Christ has forgiven you, so also [do] *ye*. ¹⁴ And to all these [add] love, which is the bond of perfectness. ¹⁵ And let the peace of Christ preside in your hearts, to which also ye have been called in one body, and be thankful. ¹⁶ Let the word of the Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another, in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God. ¹⁷ And everything, whatever ye may do in word or in deed, [do] all things in [the] name of [the] Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him.

⁵ for all *ye* are sons of light and sons of day; we are not of night nor of darkness. ⁶ So then do not let us sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober; ⁷ for they that sleep sleep by night, and they that drink drink by night; ⁸ but *we* being of [the] day, let us be sober, putting on [the] breastplate of faith and love, and as helmet [the] hope of salvation;

²¹ Wherefore, laying aside all filthiness and abounding of wickedness, accept with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

¹ Laying aside therefore all malice and all guile and hypocrisies and envyings and all evil speakings,

⁵ And this is the message which we have heard from him, and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. ⁶ If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not practise the truth. ⁷ But if we walk in the light as *he* is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

⁸ Again, I write a new commandment to you, which thing is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing and the true light already shines. ⁹ He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in the darkness until now.

³ Blessed [is] he that reads, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things written in it; for the time [is] near.

¹⁰ And he says to me, Seal not the words of the prophecy of this book. The time is near.
